The Woodley is the best apartment complex I have seen in DC. Having said that, and being a dog lover myself, I do not understand why anyone would want to keep a dog, particularly a large one (or two), in an apartment. Obviously most of my fellow tenants disagree strongly with my point of view.

We have lived at The Woodley for almost ten years--and expect to stay here as long as we live in DC. We enjoy the friendly environment (both staff and other residents). The building is very well managed and maintained--including a 24-hour staffed concierge desk and a highly responsive maintenance support staff: such a pleasure after owning and maintaining large row houses! Our two-bedroom apartment is a very accommodating size for us and our two cats. And, maybe best of all, The Woodley allows friendly, well-behaved dogs to live here, too!

Residents are friendly and like a community. The location is great one block from Metro and very walkable neighborhood. I expect more from an apartment that markets itself as a luxury apartment. The on-site staff are great and the morning concierge is also fantastic. However, the overal quality of the actual building is average, the facilities are great but non-residents use some of them and no action gets taken even if you complain. The evening concierges are sometimes rude and some of the residents are as well. I honestly felt anxious to leave my house for a bit in fear of interactions with these people and did feel my safety was at risk as well as my dog’s. I made life changes to avoid these scary interactions.

Rent keeps going up, while the quality of services goes down proportionately. I’ve lived here seven years and it’s shocking how much this place deteriorated.

The Woodley was an excellent choice for me to live. Management is always helpful and patient. The Maintenance Team responds to my requests and are always courteous and willing to help with anything. The only thing is I do wish there was a Maintenance person on site for an immediate emergency if needed.
Juan in particular, and the maintenance staff in general, is incredibly helpful, timely and professional. Always great work. I submitted a request late in the evening and Juan came the very next morning and took care of it perfectly.
Having lived at The Woodley for quite a few years, I am sorry to say since GID bought it (Jan. 2020), it has gone downhill. Their in-house management company, Windsor, is third rate. But they simply reflect Windsor’s corporate culture. Lot of staff turnover. Manager is just a bookkeeper, has no people skills, terrible at communicating, never takes responsibility for any issues, quick to blame anyone but Windsor for their mistakes, never genuinely advocates for the residents. Her “management” style: “see no problems, hear no problems, tell no one”. The building is now under major repairs (it’s 8 yrs old) on the top floor with noise that goes through the building. And the project keeps expanding. The broader list of problems here includes the broken garage door (6 weeks), broken elevators (2-3 months), amenities residents can’t use for 4-6 weeks due to construction (including apt balconies with no compensation from mgt). They had no idea who was parked where in the garage; nor did they know who was renting which storage units. The line painting project in the garage was a joke. They barely "manage" anything. The mgt’s idea of a “social” is to put out some food and drink but then their real intention is clear when they ask everyone there to “like” them on social media. Clearly the office has been pressured from above this summer because they know it isn’t good here. Finally, there is the massive construction project abutting The Woodley as the Marriott was taken down and now there are 3-4 years of construction of 2 large apt. buildings there. And The Woodley is very expensive. Not worth it.
The maintenance staff is one of the highlights of living at the Woodley.
It's a nice building, but other than the concierge, none of the community is particularly kid friendly.

We are generally delighted with our new home. The apartment is comfortable, the support staff excellent, the dog loves having friends to play with, the location is convenient, and we're beginning to make new friends.
The Woodley staff is amazing (maintenance, leasing office)--no exceptions. They are very responsive to every request. It is a joy to live here because of them.

As a single older person moving from CA to Washington DC, leasing and moving was a challenge especially as I am not very savvy with computer technology. From my very first contact with Windsor Communities, your staff (especially Sumie and Alejandro), I has consistently provided courteous, knowledgeable, and very patient support. The concierge and maintenance staff are similarly helpful and supportive. The total facilities are lovely and kept very clean.
I lived at The Woodley for several years, you feel at home and the management and staff are the best. My best experience.
