We've lived in Powderhorn for 10 yrs. It has wonderful diversity and a thriving arts community too. There are some issues with petty theft (package theft, looking for unlocked cars, etc...). But we've been able to stop those with some security measures. Neighbors are great. We live on a block with almost all duplexes and most are owner occupied. Some of the issues arise from our proximity to ChiLake Liquors. But being so close to the park, Mayday Cafe, greenway and Midtown Global Market make up for it.
