Property Ratings at Walden Pond
I’ve just moved in and already I’m finding broken appliances and wall outlets not working. They gave me a sheet to fill out and did no work on it. You get what you pay for. The cameras don’t work and their version of security literally takes pictures of people getting out of the car. Like that’s so weird and makes me very uncomfortable. The neighbors bang on the wall and the kids here throw their balls at my downstairs neighbors place. There is rarely any parking after 11pm. And my carpet peeled up just a few days after moving in when I pushed my front door open. The place is really run down. There is a building under construction and they haven’t finished it apparently for years now. Like I said, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! Be careful. These are starter apartments not family apartments.

I love Lex I have not been the easy person to work with due to being homeless and section 8 making it hard.she was always respectful, patient, and nurturing whatever my mood was she still treated me with the same respect and welcomed me into the community thank you Walden ponds and Alex!

Wow, we're glad you had such a wonderful experience with us! Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything additional we can do for you.
Management is just sales people. Don't get fooled by the pictures. They don't even know if security cameras work. Jacuzzis don't heat. Pool has hole in fiberglass. Lawn service will wake you up at 7am on Saturdays. Cars get vandalized.

I have been here three years and Before this company bought this complex it was awesome, Now the roach problem is worse the pest control company Apple I think feeds them and breed them. I have done what the Asst. Mgr Mayleen has told me to do. they treated my apartment once after that is was bypassed. I then worked with Mike and he has put my apartment on the list. They treated it once next time they bypassed so now I am having to fumigate my apartment every Monday as I'm leaving for work. and parking has gotten worse, sometimes you have to park two buildings down and then walk to your apartment . Then every Apartment complex has lost money due to pandemic and the freeze and I added a roommate and was going to transfer into another apartment. But they want to make the money back by dragging the process to cost you more money. So we decided to cancel and move when my lease is up in August.

Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for your pest issue and the frustration and inconvenience that comes along with it. Our team is committed to providing great customer service and we are sorry to learn we fell short of your expectations. If this issue is ongoing, please call or stop by the office at your earliest convenience so we may discuss another strategy. Thank you for your patience.
Living here actually makes me want to die. I have had countless nervous breakdowns because of the poor management here. I do not have hot water. Several buildings don't have hot water. It's been two weeks, and they've done nothing. They don't care that we don't have hot water. They are LEGALLY required to give us hot water. But they know that most people here cannot afford legal counsel. They're taking advantage of lower income folks. They're asking us to pay full rent despite lack of hot water for two weeks... and despite the fact that it's still not fixed. Since this issue has begun, I have had several panic attacks that were so extreme that I couldn't breathe at all and almost fainted. I almost needed to go to the emergency room. I am trapped in a lease in an apartment complex with management that doesn't care. The problem, by the way, is Harbor Group Management, who owns the complex. They are a nasty, nasty company. You should avoid renting from any complex owned by them. But I'm at a breaking point. I can't shower in my own apartment. I'm dealing with the pandemic, health issues, regular life stuff, etc. These people do not care. Please. If you're looking for an apartment, do not look here. I've never felt so hopeless and trapped.

Months later, we are happy to have this issue behind us. The storm that impacted our community, and in fact, the entire city of Houston, was an extraordinary event with far-reaching consequences. Countrywide supply shortages coupled with contractor demand caused delays out of our control. For those reasons and more, we genuinely understand and share your frustration. The scope of the storm significantly increased our workload and had it been possible, we would have surely resolved these issues more quickly. If you’d like to discuss further, we’d be happy to schedule a meeting with you at a mutually convenient time. We can be reached at WDP@harborgroupmanagement.com.
My neighbors were robbed & I was as well, we ALL let management know and of course they said “We will let management know and will get back to you with any updates.” and nothing happened at all. Gates are constantly left open, there are little to no cameras & the cameras that they have only point toward the road & dumpsters. Find somewhere else to move to, you’d be doing yourself a favor. The management team does not care about its residents & they barely answer the phone when you need them to & maintenance does not do there job.
I have lived here for going on 3 years. When I first moved here, I liked the management. The office staff was super friendly and helpful. The apartments are simple and old, no fans in the bathrooms, but I was attracted to the safety rating, the price and the reviews. None of the above applies any longer. The Management switched some time ago, and things went downward from there. During Covid you could not even get a response, nor get maintenance requests taken care of. Previous management sent fliers and emails when something important was happening, now there are no notifications at all. They claim they sent emails but I have never received one nor have any of my neighbors. Previous management also had a community board, and community events, but no longer. One Saturday morning we were all rudely awakened at 8 AM and they began roof work, no notice, no warning. The gates are constantly open now, people are racing in with squealing tires, parking is taken up by commercial trucks, equipment and materials. Today I came home and empty liquor bottles were in the parking lot.The gym is probably permanently closed, and the grounds are not being taken care of as before. Also the standards seem to have slipped, and there appears to be no resident pre-screening. This is no longer a safe and quiet community. When you call the office, you always get the same response...we will let the manager know, and then nothing happens.
there a bunch of roaches big and small ones and when you call the office they just send someone to put some liquid on the counters is really bad please don't move here for real
Any new future resident wanting to move here based on the amenities dont do it neither jacuzzi worked last year and one was green nearly the entire year. The gym was and still is a complete mess treadmills are broken and dont work eliptical are broken and weight machines are broken. Ask patricia when theyll be fixed or when new ones are coming and the same answer every resident gets is next month waiting on owners. So if these amenities are a apart of our lease and we were tricked by stating all equipment works and it doesnt or havent been in over a year is this considered false advertisement.

Hi James, Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had a negative experience, and will use this as an opportunity to improve. Falling short of meeting your expectations is not to the standards we strive to achieve, and we humbly ask for the opportunity to make this right. Thank you providing this information so we can improve upon our services. Sincerely, Monica Morales
This is my first time living in this apartment l don't like it at all l can't wait till my lease is up. I hate it
Rent is fair for the location as most apartments are almost twice the amount elsewhere. Nice layouts and big rooms. It's just too bad the maintenance is horrible and no one knows how to fix anything correctly around here. After a month, you can't wait for your lease to be up so you can get out of here. Otherwise, you have just about anything you want in close distance. Restaurants, movie theater, mall, etc...
I love my apartment because of the location, both of the complex and my actualy unit. However,...there's alot to be desired. There isnt enough security and alot of night, ALL the lights are off on the exterior of my building - creepy as all get out But from what they say...they are working to upgrade the situation - but isnt that what they all say?
The apartments are very up to date. The leasing and mangers are very helpful. Fulltime security makes you feel very safe.
