League City began as a cattle town that attracted a railway. Its citizens wisely platted areas for schools, churches and common areas which made the area attractive to immigrants. Best of all its location is not too far from Galveston Island and the miles of beaches. It has the third largest boat anchorage facilities.

Many roads are lined with century old oaks giving the town a sheltered feeling. A charming annual Teddy Bear Parade sponsored by the school caters to children as it marches down Second Street. Bay Area Theatre and Voice Academy offers music lessons, theater workshops and productions.

Baybrook Mall comes as three miles north of the area with anchoring stores lists as Dillard’s, Macy’s JC Penney’s and Sears. Locally Bay Colony Town Center serves residents located at interstate 45 and FM 646 with a HEB, Kohl’s and Petco. League City Towne Center has the Home Depot, Target, and TJ Maxx. A Walmart Supercenter completes the package making League City a good shopping mecca.
In the historic district many specialty shops exist such as Annette’s Emporium, Nancy’s Bra Boutique, and ElCubano Cigars. Here shopping becomes tied to events such as the Texas Victorian Weekend, A Tea and Fashion Show and the Texas Victorian Sweetheart Ball.

Lots of good food, reasonable pricing and considered one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Main Street Bistro has been so popular that reservations are a grand idea. The food comes more than you can eat and the “smart casual” atmosphere makes it and a good hangout. Claudio’s Restaurant and Piano Bar has become known for its romance and atmosphere. It has a small stage and dance floor and it is an experience to be enjoyed.
