Property Ratings at Thornton Homes
I’ve been renting this house for a while now, and overall, it’s been a great experience. The location is hands-down my favorite part—there are so many fantastic food options nearby, from cozy cafes to diverse restaurants, which makes every meal a treat. The house itself is comfortable and well-suited for my needs, with the 3.5 bathrooms being a huge highlight. It’s such a luxury to have that much space and convenience, especially when hosting guests or just enjoying the extra privacy. The layout is practical, and the place feels welcoming. I’d definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for a solid home in a vibrant area! --- Let me know if you’d like me to tweak anything or add specific details!
Management is absolutely horrible. The tenants they rent to are horrible. They do not care about the property at all. Highly do not recommend. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Wish I could upload photos as well.
My experience living at this property has been overwhelmingly negative. Communication with management is poor — any maintenance requests require repeated follow-ups, and there is little sense of urgency or accountability when it comes to resolving issues. The property itself is not well maintained. Dog waste is regularly left around the grounds, and many tenants do not care for their yards, which affects the overall cleanliness and appearance of the community. Parking is another major problem — spaces are limited and visibility when exiting the gate is dangerously low. Safety has also been a significant concern during our time here. Police have been called to the property multiple times due to fights breaking out in the street. On one occasion, law enforcement had to break down a tenant’s door, and the complex was locked down for over an hour — leaving us and other residents waiting outside with no communication or support from management. To make matters worse, we were charged at move-out for items like air vent cleaning and water filter replacement — despite having purchased and installed those ourselves upon move-in. This feels less like standard policy and more like an unfair attempt to collect extra fees. Despite multiple attempts, the company has completely ghosted us - no response to any attempt in communication. This has by far been the absolute worst experience I could have ever imagined. Upon move in, we were told several times we were the first and only tenants to ever move in. That was a complete lie as evidenced by the condition of the home upon arrival (scratches all over the baseboard, paint chipped, missing dryer vent, broken sink). I could go on and on about the horrible HORRIBLE practices of this company but I will run out of characters. I would not recommend this property. Between poor management, safety issues, and questionable billing practices, the overall experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. Oh and if you aren’t a fan of cockroaches, I wouldn’t step foot in. I would leave 0 stars if I could.
Property Manager at Thornton Homes, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We regret to hear that your experience at the property has not met your expectations, and we understand your frustration regarding the matters you raised. That said, we would like to clarify that management has consistently worked to fulfill its responsibilities in maintaining the property, addressing service requests, and ensuring community safety. At the same time, it is important to note that residents also have obligations outlined in the lease agreement, including yard upkeep, proper pet waste disposal, and adherence to community rules that help maintain a clean and safe environment for everyone. Regarding move-out charges, these follow standard procedures as stated in the lease. We request that homes are returned in the same condition they were provided, which is why items like air vent cleaning and water filter replacement are included. These are not additional or unfair fees, but as part of ensuring that homes remain in good condition for incoming residents. We take your concerns seriously and will continue working to improve communication and processes. Building a positive living environment, however, requires both management and residents to uphold their respective responsibilities.
I’ve really enjoyed my time at Thornton Homes. The place is well-kept, the neighborhood is quiet but still close to everything I need, and it’s been a solid, hassle-free place to live.
Thornton has exceeded my expectations. The apartments are clean, spacious, and well-designed. Management is always helpful and attentive to residents' needs, and the neighborhood is safe and peaceful. I appreciate the sense of community here and would highly recommend Thornton to anyone looking for a new home.
