The Black Mountain neighborhood lies just south of Henderson and 16 miles southeast of downtown Los Vegas, making this community popular for single-family homes and multi-floor apartment rentals. O'Callaghan Park, just south on Skyline Road, features 20 acres of open grass areas, lighted courts, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, covered picnic areas, and a walking course. Residents love to meet up there for a friendly game, brisk walk, or shared meal.
Following a walk in the park, locals flag down the King's Sausage food truck for old-fashioned pierogies and stuffed cabbage. On game days, they gather at Hammer's Grill & Bar for great food and drink in a friendly, homey atmosphere. Black Mountain delights golfers with the beautiful Black Mountain Golf & Country Club. This 18-hole, member-owned championship course is open to the public, and locals take advantage of the friendly atmosphere and scenic surroundings.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Heritage Pointe Apartments
Overall, for the price, this apartment complex really cannot be beat - period. Sure, there are little things here and there, but certainly none of them being a burden or a "deal breaker". I mean this goes with any location - anywhere guaranteed. There will ALWAYS be little things to contemplate, regardless of the price you pay. So with that in mind, yeah, the complex is a little bit on the "older" side and may need a little paint and a bit of Spackle here and there so to speak, but in general it is in decent shape and quite functional so to speak. I should mention that the people who take care of the property are passionate and motivated not only about taking care of the location, but for their actual jobs, something you unfortunately do not get to see all that often in the workforce nowadays. I mean, geez, the lady in the front office "Merita" - what can I say, she not only made me feel completely comfortable considering my "situation", but she was very professional, while at the same time treating me like she knew me for 20 years. In a nutshell, she was/is the PERFECT person for this position - she is definitively "genuine" in her kindness, and yet unequivocally professional in carrying out the work at hand. When we initially had some issues to figure out before I moved in, she quite constructively, (while maintaining a "can-do" attitude), figured things out quite efficiently. And Mike, one of the employees who works here, seems like a great initiative-driven guy, who enjoys his job. By the way, did I mention that you can more or less hear a pin drop around this place most of the time - no kidding. Very quiet here, really. Or how about that a large connected garage is included in the price! As for the people who live here - I have only met 3-4 of them, but ALL seem very nice. Another nice little perk - you have a small yet quite modern shopping complex literally walking distance down the street, with an Albertson's, various food establishments, a dentist, haircut place, etc.. So, bottom line - in all out honesty, for the price and what you get - very much worth the money. And as for Merita - I cannot say enough - the perfect balance of down to earth personality, know how/experience, and professionalism. If an opening comes around - go for it, it is worth it.
This complex picks favorites and will ignore work orders if you upset the office. Any complaint given needs written confirmation that you told the office, otherwise it will never get fixed and office will claim you never told them, whether you tell them in person, call or email. Nothing will get replaced Just a temporary fix. Office hours posted doesn’t matter, office opens late and constantly closes early with no warning. The water is so bad it’s better to not use it at all and will be shut off frequently for repairs.
This used to be a great place to live however the type of people that have moved in have made it very difficult to live safely. There is a lot of unsupervised children and drug trafficking. We have felt very unsafe and the office does not seem to worry about the living conditions. It definitely needs more management and ways to improve the conditions. We are moving very soon.
Nice 2 bedroom apartment with attached 1 car garage. Apartment is good size, appliances are a little old and worn out but maintenance is quick to fix any problems and the staff is really nice. The neighborhood is nice and this is a good part of town. I saw ads for this property that said it has a bath and a half but the 2 bedroom apartments have 2 full baths. Close to schools and shopping and only 20 minutes from Vegas baby!
