      Neighborhood

      Franconia is a neighborhood in southwest Alexandria just a few miles from Washington, DC. Franconia’s proximity to the Interstate 495 and 85 junction puts this city in an ideal location. The Franconia-Springfield Station, served by the WMATA (also known as the Metro), allows for easy commutes as well. Apartments, houses, condos, and townhouses make up the diverse rental market of Franconia and are priced similarly to rentals in the DC metro area.

      The eastern border of Franconia partially encompasses the sprawling Huntley Meadows Park while other scenic parks dot the inside of the neighborhood. Franconia also contains a few restaurants and shopping centers, but a step west of the neighborhood will lead renters to a large cluster of shopping malls off Interstate 94, including Springfield Town Center and the Concord Shopping Center.

      Great Living In Henley

      I've been living at Henley in Kingstowne since 2007, and its home to me. During the course of my 14 years living in the property, I've lived in four different units, and in each one of them the experience was very pleasant. The various floor plans each have something unique to offer. The parking lot is spacious, the surrounding forest adds beauty to the general vicinity, the property is always clean, and a convenient Amazon Hub Locker is provided. There is also a playground, pool, and gym for the convenience of the residents. The Henley management is highly professional, and its team members very diligent and accommodating. Maintenance, when needed, is also provided in a timely manner. I commend the Henley management for maintaining the property the way they have, and recommend anyone who is looking for pleasant place to live to visit Henley.       Poor Leasing Office

      Had an appointment for a tour. Showed up 10 min early and agent came to the door and told me to come back in 10 minutes after asking who I was 3 times (also took him a few minutes to even get to the door). Additionally, their steps up to the building were completely covered in snow and ice, conveying a sense that there is little property upkeep or care for safety. This is a hard pass.

      Worst place to live - look at other places if you move to Henley you will regret it

      Worst apartment complex. This place has the worst maintains and management team. Last summer I had issues with my AC and it took them 4 months to fix it. The apartment had leaking problems every time it rain and their fix was to give me a recycling bin to put under the leak. When they finally send someone to fix it after 2 weeks all they did was paint over the water stains on the ceiling. To make things worst my car was stolen and when I called the office they acted like it was nothing. They also cancelled my electric instead of the apartment next door. This is just a small list of things that is wrong with this place. Look for other places before is too late.

      They towed my car

      I am a newer resident at this complex and the leasing office failed to tell me that there are specific spots that some residents pay to reserve and that other residents who park in those reserved spots, will get towed. Once I found out my car was towed, there wasn't a number listed anywhere for me to call, I had to go to the leasing office and ask them myself what had happened. They gave me a phone number and it wasn't even for the right towing place. They did not make it clear to new residents that those spots are reserved and their car would be towed. I definitely regret becoming a resident at this place and would not recommend it to others.

      Can't wait to get out!

      This complex has gone downhill in recent years - they've allowed an influx of people who don't pick up after their dogs, put their trash anywhere, bring their aggressive dogs into the dog park, and make as much noise as they want, with no repercussions!! Roland and his maintenance team are great, aside from this you'll get much more value from nearby complexes such as Sussex and The Elms. We've lived here three years and can't wait to move out in three months!

      Close to metro, shopping, highway-perfect commuter location

      Basically everything you need is within a 5min drive - Blue line metro (Franconia-Springfield station with thousands of garage parking spaces), all new Springfield Mall, 95/395/495 entrances, and other retail shopping needs galore. Also walking/bicycle friendly, with sidewalks everywhere and metro bus service right at the entrance to the community. Top Golf Alexandria is also right around the corner. Community itself is well maintained, and the one maintenance request I put in was taken care of the next day. They even left a hard copy of my online request with handwritten notes on the repairs made! Everyone I've interacted with is very helpful and friendly. Unless you pay for a reserved space, parking is first come first serve for you and any guests. There is no max # of spots 'assigned' to a unit. Now that people have moved in at the end of summer, I am noticing parking does fill up, but you can always get a spot. Having the dog park is awesome, and there is a small gym in the downstairs of the leasing office that is ok for short workouts. I wouldn't recommend you replace your gym membership with it though.

      Pretty good

      I love that I have a fire place and trash pick up service, but there have been a lot of little fixes that have taken a great deal of time to fix. The lights outside havent been working for months and after 3-4 service requests they are still down. Overall though, a pretty nice place to live and a great neighborhood.

      Very bad place

      Unfortunately I do not have enough space to write everything that made our stay (and after) at the Edgemoore awful. Firstly, The apartments are old and many are not updated: you don't get your money's worth. Once Kettler took over there were a lot of problems with communication. I sent 4 emails and left 6 voice messages that were never responded to. Maintenance took a few days to fix things and many times just glossed over the real problem. When moving out I asked three different people what I should do about repainting (we had painted a wall); I got three different answers and just ended up buying paint. After we moved out, I was very disappointed with our returned deposit: my fiance and I are very clean. We vacuumed once a week and cleaned every weekend, but we were charged for carpet scrubbing which is outrageous. The parking is great, but if you are looking to make some place "home," don't go here.

      Great Place To Live

      My family and I have been living at the Edgemoore for a year and a half now and I have nothing but great things to say about it. The property recently came under new management within the past couple months and it actually got even better!! The property is well maintained, the maintenance engineers have a great attitude and all of the employees are very hospitable. The property a family and pet friendly as well. The surrounding area is among the best in the region with Kingstowne, Springfield shopping centers and plenty of other shopping and restaurant locations in between. Of course, the schools are top notch as well with Lane Elementary and Hayfield Secondary schools. I have nothing but great things to say about this property and the surrounding area.

      Edgemore

      Nicely snuggled away in the trees so you hear the birds and bees but are within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Springfield metro is close by for commuters. . I give it a three because although it is a great locaton, the kitchen is small and out of date, the washer and dryer are small sized and nothing special about the bathrooms (no soaking tubs or nice walk in showers in either of the two baths.)

      Nice place and great area.

      I have lived at the Edgemoore for 15 months and I have just renewed my lease for another year. It is a great place with lots of trees and it is within walking distance of about anything you need. When something breaks the staff fixes very quickly.

      Peaceful Community with Great Community

      This is my fourth year here and it gets better and better every year. It is a great community that is close to good schools and major attractions. Apartments and the community are clean and peaceful. Management and the whole maintanence team are giving a great service. They are all over the place and responsive.

      Well Worth the Rent!

      I lived there for six years and would have continued to stay, but due to a family health problem I had to break my lease. The office staff went out of their way to help me which I completely appreciate!! In the six years I lived there, everyone was really nice and responsive. The location is great! You're near the metro, shopping centers, the beltway but at the same time, you've got woods surrounding the property.
