As its name implies, Medical Center South is located directly south of the Texas Medical Center, which is home to Houston’s major healthcare facilities and medical schools. The neighborhood is also locally known as the Astrodome since the Houston Astrodome dominated the neighborhood. NRG Arena, NRG Stadium, and NRG Center are also located in the neighborhood so living here will give you easy access to rodeos, football games, concerts, and more. Although the area was initially created for the Astrodome, it has since changed drastically. Along with medical facilities, Medical Center South is laden with restaurants, stores, and an abundance of housing options. Rental options include large single-family houses, luxury condos, and modern apartments and townhomes. Attracting even more renters, Medical Center South is also convenient to Downtown Houston, Midtown, and Hermann Park.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at District 28
The building itself is fine. However, the area is insecure and there are many homeless people around. Also, the management people don’t want to resolve any issues. They always repeat they don’t have control over anything.

Great newish building, fantastic maintenance and friendly staff. Nice pool, decent gym, gated deck, and shuttle to TMC. Best of all is the apt interior though. Lots of closet space, nice balcony, laminate wood floor, and really nice bathroom.

Hi there, thank you so much for your positive comments about District 28! We're glad to hear we delivered such a great experience. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help!
District 28 is a beautiful building with great amenities and good intentions. However the maintenance of many of these amenities falls short. A better effort by management to improve cleanliness in communal areas would be a huge improvement. The dog park and the outdoor spaces are sorely neglected and the lack of consideration of residents cleaning up after their pets is disappointing. The building has great potential and the staff are friendly and helpful. The main concerns are about following through and keeping the building to a better standard.

Hello there, thank you; we appreciate your feedback as well as taking the time to leave us a review. We hope you have an amazing week!
On the overall, I enjoy living in District 28. I have been there since the opening. There have been ups and downs. The current staff team is really nice and helpful, the management staff really great too. Old issues should be fixed to make the residence shine again.

I recently relocated from Atlanta to HTX. I love it here at District 28 thus far! The staff are professional and made sure I had the proper move-in experience.

Hello, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at District 28. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you; we are more than happy to help!
This complex is excellent! Currently on my third year at District 28.. Wife is on her 4th. We moved apartment units twice due to the working circumstances of the covid crisis. We moved from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom since work became permanently from home and we needed an office. After a year, we downsized again to a 1 bedroom as things were starting to open up again. Never have I had a negative experience at District 28. The front-office staff have always been workable, immediately available, and never wasted my time or my wife's time. The maintenance of the facility is top notch. The maintenance team takes care of the property very well. I always had my maintenance requests were answered in less than 24 hours and the problem would always be resolved the first time. The maintenance staff ensured to accommodate everyone during winter storm Uri while giving timely updates. Best of all, the property is always clean. Usually aprtment complexes dont care for the carpets in the hall, making the halls smell terrible. District 28 ensures to clean all of the hallways, and regularly shampoos and cleans the carpets in the hall to make sure the tenants have an excellent experience. Location is perfect. The VA is right next door (we didnt lose power during Uri, must be due to being on the same grid as the medical district). The school is 5 minutes away along with the remaining medical facilities. The highway is easily accessible. District 28 is one of the safer places in the area. During my first year, I had to travel a lot for work and had to leave my wife alone. District 28 was the only place I felt comfortable having my wife stay alone in the area. Thankfully I am very happy with the decision. Whether it be a stay for medical school, residency, or any other reason to come to District 28, you will be taken care of well here and you will be very happy staying here. Thank you District 28!
I am a happy resident. The courtyard and pool areas are always clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The apartments are beautiful and new compared to a lot of other options nearby.
The facility is really clean and quiet. Maintenance is fast and the front office staff is amazing. I would recommend this place.
Excellent staff, almost-new everything, great location for Med Center.
A nice place to live. Really happy to have chosen District28.
I love living at District 28. The management team is stellar and I've been incredibly satisfied with the community.
