Oodles of history in this former barn, once the property of John Tapley, a blacksmith who did the first days work in the Charlestown Navy Yard. The barn was most likely built in the early 19th century, but was enlarged and converted into a living space around 1870. This unique cottage/duplex apartment is actually quite hidden, making it very special. It is accessed via Putnam Street, which is located just off the Training Field (aka Winthrop Square). It boasts its own front entry. Open kitchen/living/dining on the first floor with exposed bricks, original beams, fir floors, a wood burning Franklin Fireplace, and a very large walk in closet.
