Property Ratings at 1624 Holman
I had to speak to some of the negative reviews I've seen about this property. My wife and I moved in over a month ago, and have nothing but good things to say. The staff has been friendly and helpful, and very responsive to messages so far. We have had three maintenance requests that have all been responded to VERY fast - faster than we anticipated. When our refrigerator was acting up and didn't work right after one service attempt, they promptly replaced it with an even nicer one. Yes - the apartments are small, but you know that up front. Yes it's an old building , but that's part of the charm. They aren't perfect and all old buildings are going to have issues from time to time. What matters is how those issues are handled, and from what I've seen so far, I feel that they do a good job of it. We've seen no evidence of bugs, and they routinely spray for them. Take away: it's a GREAT price for the location, and it's a charming cozy little place!
Everything old and outdated.very small apartment, rent very high. Not worth your money. Roaches, roaches, roaches. I can't express that enough. Please find somewhere else to live. They did not clean the apartment prior to moving in. Everything was nasty. You have to keep calling if u need something fixed. In ending, roaches, roaches, roaches don't move here.
I wanted to live close to downtown without paying the close-to-downtown price. An agent helped me find this gem, tucked into the corner of midtown with easy access to the rail (one of my must-haves), and covered parking. It's a small space in an old building dating back to the 1930s. The property management company, Fat Property, has been great to work with and have responded quickly to maintenance requests. To top it off, all of my utilities except for Internet are included in my rent--which means I didn't have to pay any initiation fees or worry about transferring service. I fee great about the value I'm getting!
These three charming brick two-story buildings have a bunch of small, nearly identical wood-floored studio apartments. The kitchens are spacious and well laid out, and there is plenty of natural light (especially in the corner units.) They certainly aren't palatial, but they're big enough for a single person or an emotionally healthy couple. There are some issues of course. Is there laundry? There is not. Is there a washateria nearby? No, but Montrose is nearby with its washaterias nextdoor to cafes and bars. Are there bugs? Well...they spray for them regularly! They may have some issues, but these apartments are affordable, centrally located, and in cool old buildings in a city that loves to tear cool old buildings down.
