Vox on Two

DO NOT RENT HERE. I moved into Vox on Two in mid-April 2025. Since then, it has been nothing but headaches and frustration. This is a poorly managed apartment community and your rent will simply be wasted money. To be specific, since we have moved in, we have dealt with the following issues: (1) Our HVAC unit was totally rusted out and the unit was hanging on by a single screw, ready to fall at any moment (see photo). We called maintenance and they assessed the issue, telling us it would take a month to fix. We told maintenance that we would like to be informed if there were any updates and that the maintenance team did NOT have permission to enter our apartment while we were gone. When we went on vacation, we were surprised to come home with holes in our walls (see photos) and paint/plaster all over our apartment. It appeared that maintenance did the work without informing us. Worse, they entered our apartment without informing us (which felt like a total violation of our privacy). Also, you don’t expect your apartment to be a mess when you come home from a vacation, having to spend hours cleaning up the mess you never anticipated. Poor communication and a violation of our privacy. That’s what we got out of this. It took a few weeks and several dozen emails and phone calls but the issue was fixed. We were left wondering: why didn’t anyone at the property check the HVAC unit before we moved in, especially considering how bad of a condition it was in? And why was no one held accountable for entering our unit without our permission? (2) When we moved in, one of the three elevators in the building was not working. Over the course of two weeks, two out of three elevators were not working. For multiple days. Imagine trying to haul groceries to your fourth floor apartment when the amenities you pay for are not working. (3) “Guaranteed” parking is anything but guaranteed. We came home after another trip to find that someone had parked in our spot. Because it was a Saturday, there was no one on site to remove the car so that we could park. Keep in mind: we pay $200 a month to park in this spot. SWe had to park our car 15 minutes away and pay extra just to resolve the issue while we waited for Vox to figure out what happened.

Great community with a friendly and supportive staff. Easy access to green spaces as well as public transportation. Very dog-friendly! Highly recommended!

I lived at Vox on Two for five years, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The surrounding area is generally nice, uncrowded, and near transportation. Many of the units have balconies overlooking a patch of trees and you can hear the birds in the courtyards. The units themselves are decent - they are showing some wear like scratches in the cabinets, corners of vinyl flooring beginning to peel, or cracked fridge drawers. That said, maintenance does come quickly if something essential is broken. I wouldn't call it luxury, but definitely modern and more professionally maintained than many apartments in the Boston area. The amenities are nice to have but perhaps slightly outdated compared to the neighboring buildings. I wished they maintained the gym better as they were very slow to fix broken equipment (especially unfortunate when it was one of the treadmills which are popular at peak hours). As for the pool area, if you are an adult looking forward to unwinding in the hot tub after work on summer evenings, it's not worth it - they used to keep it nicely hot but in recent years it had been below body temperature and just felt kind of cold and clammy. I'm not sure if the heater broke or this was an attempt to make it safe for peoples unmitigated 6 year olds to stay in there indefinitely. I also think they've made a consumer unfriendly change regarding lease terms. One might notice that they adjust the lease lengths such that all leases turn over in the spring/summer when apartments are most expensive (I've seen up to $1000/month rent difference on the same unit in winter vs summer). Even if you initially rent in the winter when your lease renews in the summer, they will get you up to that higher summer "market value." It just feels like another money grab. Overall, it could have been way worse, but it also could have been better.

For anyone searching for a nice place to live, it's very unlikely that that person would enjoy a better experience than that which is always given by the people in the front office here.

1.The buzzer doesn't work and hasn't worked since before i moved 2.Access to the back of the property should be granted if you are too cheap to provide all residents with fobs to enter as they please (we currently have to wait for someone to move out and return their keys in order to gain one). 3.Carpeting is just gross and old, plus is full of pet hair. 4.Handicap people only get one free spot out of the 6 visitor parking spaces when this property has over 100 units. if you need parking you must pay for it inside the garage but you better hurry up and request a parking pass before 5pm. 5.The only person that's nice is Felipe at front desk and the maintenance crew, everyone else hates their job (idk why they picked this customer service job) including the property manager.

Vox on two days a a well maintained building interior and exterior. Only wish there was a convenience store closer by. Staff and maintenance is very attentive.

I have been at Vox for over a month and the stay has been a delight. Apartments are spacious and elegant and come with new appliances. The leasing staff especially Felipe is very helpful. He made the move in process smooth and always goes above and beyond when helping the residents.

Vox on Two is a welcoming community that creates a wonderful space for its residents. Desk staff are friendly, maintenance is excellent, and on the whole Vox is a lovely place to call home.

I love this community - the staff is professional, supportive, and friendly - always quickly responding to the needs of the tenants. They also do a great job at keeping the premises organized, decorative, and clean. Great job! Highly recommended! -OG.

The apartment is well-equipped and very safe. The leasing office staff are very friendly and helpful. Felipe has helped me throughout my move-in and I really appreciate it. The maintenance team is efficient and professional. I have enjoyed living in Vox on Two so far.

My community is always incredibly clean, and the staff are courteous and great to work with! When I needed a washing machine repair recently, the maintenance person was there within a couple of hours and got everything working fast, which made the situation so much less stressful.

Amenities are very good and also the environment is amazing

A quiet and well maintained community. Super close (walking distance) to Alewife station, whole foods, Trader Joe's, CVS, Dunkin and so much more. The management is pretty responsive, maintenance guys come to rescue almost instantly and I absolutely love the different events happening all the time.

Moving in to vox on two has been a great experience because is a great area to live and is a community where you feel safe and comfortable. Also with a great and kind leasing office team members.

A disappointment! Compared to all of the other apartment complexes near campus and where I lived prior Vox, Vox apartments are OUTDATED and NOT UP to a luxury standard. Moved here 2 weeks ago, my experience hasn’t been comfortable nor pleasant! Apartment SIZE is tiny, and LAYOUTS are not efficient as hallways are wide and living room & kitchen are narrow. NO VENTS in the apartment!! there is a fan that supposed to filter the air but … it is Horrible! Loud and doesn’t do much but giving a noise. My eyes were filled with tears and burning up because the fan takes the air and blow it inside the apartment. I have breathing issues so for me with no ventilation, that is a health concerns in which I communicated to the property management but have not heard back from them. Seems they do not need to care about their resident’s wellbeing! CENTRAL HEAT & A/C is awful…. old and super loud! DOORS old and don't open/close properly. Office Staff: While the leasing staff are polite, they are not that attentive to the resident experience and not ready to assist. I learned that residents have to handle their own things by themselves! I thought staff is there to help us and I read on reviews there are very helpful, but I don’t see any kind of help when I approached them with issues, and they told me to log a request by yourself. PARKING is extremely tight in lot. LOCATION: It is near the T station, but I am not a fan of the location as its right off of Route 2 and you have to quickly slow down from 60mph to get off into the very small front entrance parking area which could be full of cars or dropping off vans or people blocking the entrance. SMOKING in and around the property is prohibited by law and by the lease terms. However, there are tenants who smoke, and Property management is aware of the smoking tenants but won't fix the situation although they ask you to report it when see it. NO COFFEE MACHINE, NO WORKSTATION NO PRINTER NO VENDOR MACHINE, and NO CONCIERGE after hours. Compared to the other apartment complexes near campus, I believe that Vox DOES NOT HAVE the best value nor the best amenities. Pricing do not justify the amenities offered because there isn’t much. Potential tenants: BEWARE as you may need to think about your preferences before deciding to move in here!

Great maintenance services and very friendly and helpful staff

Everything has been so comfortable, convenient, and great overall here! The few maintenance issues I've had were resolved in a prompt and friendly manner (literally just light bulbs needing replacement), and the overall community is quiet and respectful of each other. The location cannot be beat.

I have been a Vox on Two resident for only a few months and I am already impressed by the care and responsiveness of the Vox on Two team! Kudos!

This is a wonderfully friendly, clean, and quiet place to live! Best of all, I can rest assured that the community will have my back in case of any maintenance needs. I admit I was skeptical about being a little out of the way from Cambridge and Somerville proper, but it turns out the amenities and quick Alewife access leave me hardly missing anything.

The maintenance people really do a good job of answering my work orders. I try to be specific as much as I can regarding it.

There's no convenience store close by and the vending machine only sells covid test. Walking to the store or even within the complex is complicated and the neighbor buildings are not very welcoming if we go for a stroll thru the back entrance, and walking by the highway is dangerous.

I love living at Vox on two. I feel safe and the amenities are much appreciated. Maintenance crew is awesome.

The team here at Vox on Two is like no other. They are very welcoming, kind and caring. They look out for you like you are part of their family.

Great community in a quiet pocket of Cambridge. It's great for people who want high quality apartments with the ease of access to Cambridge and Boston by car. The maintenance and management are responsive and courteous which makes anything that comes up easy and quick to resolve!

The leasing staff, facility, and inside room are all great!

It has been a really great three-week since I moved in. Kaity has been extremely helpful in making sure my move-in process goes as smooth as possible. The maintenance team has also been super friendly and my reported issues get fixed really fast. The Monday evening yoga along with many other events are great and make me feel connected within the community.

Ive never lived in a big community before and I was a little nervous about the transition. Everyone at Vox has been wonderful to work with and had made living here a great experience.

I have very much enjoyed living at Vox. Though it is fairly expensive, the amenities, especially the gym and pool are great, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the location is very nice. If you can afford it, I highly recommend living here.
