DC-area commuters love Arlington’s Ballston/Virginia Square community for its close proximity to Washington and its relaxed neighborhood atmosphere. The rental market ranges from charming single-family homes on tree-lined suburban streets to high-rise apartments and condos in the thick of Arlington’s urban action, attracting a healthy mix of residents to the area.
While the neighborhood is mostly residential, the area between Fairfax Drive and Wilson Boulevard is packed with office buildings, shops, and restaurants; this is also where you’ll find the popular Wellburn Square Freshfarm Market, a local favorite for fresh produce, as well as the stylish Ballston Common Mall.
Most of the streets in the area are fairly quiet, giving folks the ability to get around on foot or by bicycle. The community provides easy access to Interstate 66, which will get you into DC within minutes; multiple Metro stops in the neighborhood also help make commuting a breeze.

I have moved around over the last 21yrs (never spending more then 3yrs in one place) and I can say unequivocally this is the best staff I have ever dealt with. The apartment it is great, it is clean and spacious, all the appliances are modern easy being able to link to my phone. As for location it is the definition of convenient, metro is only a 5/10mins walk, multiple restaurant within walking distance, and a Harris Teeter on the corner. Over all this place is great.

The apartment is amazing all the accessories in here are pretty much brand new. The staff is wonderful they treat you like family. There are multiple stores bars, restaurants, all within walking distance, which makes things so much easier. I’m so happy that I moved in here.

So far, we have loved this community. We moved in a few days ago. The unit is nice and the staff are nice as well. We were a little concerned prior to moving in that having the trash cans out in the hallways for trash pickup would be smelly and ugly but the hallways smell really nice/clean. Looking forward to living here.

I've loved living at UrbA so far! The leasing office has been extremely helpful and responsive with my move-in process. Maintenance responds quickly to service requests. The parking garage connects to the Harris Teeter downstairs and being across the street from Ballston Quarter, the conveniency factor of this apartment complex can't be found anywhere else.

I’ve had some appliance issues but they have been prompt in addressing them. Overall satisfied with my move in so far! Clean environment. Not too loud.

The Staff is amazing! Danielle and her whole leasing team has walked with me through this process and been very patient. I had already been to a number of properties when I walked in without an appointment at URBA, but Maggie treated me like family! As I continued to ponder my decision I visited an additional 17 apartments in Arlington, but the URBA staff kept following up and won me over! This is a luxury apartment complex offer a great deal at 1.5 months free right now that makes it hard to turn down. The units are extremely high end feeling, and the kitchens are some of the highest quality seen in the area.

Everything is great. Staff is friendly and easy to communicate with and everything is clean. Events are fun. Elevator key fob scanner is infuriating though.

The apartment is beautiful and not cheap but it takes them a while to get the issues fixed. My apartment before Urba, any issues you submitted it will get fixed that same day or next and will leave a note inside the unit.

UrbA was one of the best apartment complexes that we toured. The leasing team is knowledgeable and friendly, the community spaces are clean and functional, the apartments have all smart appliances and quality finishes, and compared to other apartments with same amenities the rent is lower. Added bonus of the new Harris teeter moving in right below.

If you want to live in an upscale thriving community near DC I highly recommend Urba. The design and layout of their apartments is ideal, property perfectly well maintained and you cannot beat the ideal location with proximity to shopping, restaurants and the metro.

I recently moved into Urba Apartments, and my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the very beginning, I encountered numerous issues that have made living here unbearable. First and foremost, there are serious electrical problems throughout the apartment. The microwave is completely non-functional due to these electrical issues. It's unacceptable to pay rent for an apartment where basic appliances cannot even be used. On top of that, plumbing problems are rampant. My toilet tank has been filling with hot water, costing me extra money in energy, and leaving me without hot water (in the middle of winter) after a few flushes. Additionally, the air conditioning system is faulty. I had to sleep with many blankets on my first night even though this issue was reported immediately. When I stopped by the leasing office the next day, their excuse was that maintenance people do not work on weekends and that I must wait until the end of the long weekend. Speaking of management, they are completely non-responsive and lack any form of communication. Despite repeated attempts to contact them regarding these issues, my concerns have been met with indifference and excuses. It's clear that they prioritize collecting rent over providing a habitable living environment for their tenants. Overall, I urge anyone considering renting at Urba Apartments to avoid it at all costs. The numerous problems, coupled with the apathetic management, make this property a living nightmare. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a place to call home.

I’ve been at UrbA for just over two weeks and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The apartment complex is well kept, the amenities are convenient (my dog especially enjoys the Bark Park, which is hard to find at apartments in the area!), and the leasing staff is so kind! I am so glad I stumbled across this complex on instagram and I’m happy to be at my new home.

Applied in July, and received application approval, lease agreement, and welcome letter in early August. ------ Less than three weeks (8/30) before we were supposed to move in (9/15), UrbA told us that move-in was delayed until 10/6. ------ In order to stay with UrbA, I would be unhoused for three weeks between 9/15 and 10/6. Finding interim lodging accommodations would cost me north of $3000. ------ UrbA provided no flexibility in updating lease terms to account for the disruption they caused us. ------ Damaging factors and concerning nuances include: (1) We were notified less than three weeks prior to our move-in date; it would be absurd to believe that Greystar was not aware of construction being behind schedule until getting that close to the promised move-in date; late notification or poor monitoring of build progress -- both of which would be attributable to Greystar, (2) Forced to have a lease cadence in October as opposed to the September start/end that we desired, (3) We chose UrbA over other competitive options that are no longer available, (4) In order to avoid the cost of being unhoused for three weeks, we have begun the housing search again, (5) If we stay with UrbA, we will need to move twice ------ UrbA has offered a $500 Harris Teeter gift card as a "gesture of commitment to customer service and goodwill"; they refuse to directly address the aforementioned concerns and damages. ------ I wouldn't trust a management team that makes such errors and does not take accountability.

We genuinely apologize for the construction delay and the inconvenience it has caused you. The delay in construction came as unexpected news for our team as well. As the management team, we weren't anticipating it, but as soon as we got word from the construction company managing the project, we qu ickly pivoted to get the news out to everyone that would be affected. We also offered some incentives to those who had some flexibility with their move-in dates and reached out to nearby sister communities within a 2-mile radius to explore alternative options with immediate availability. We totally get that you may not have the flexibility to delay your move any further, and we'd like to personally assist you in finding an alternative solution.
