Don’t come if you want a community When we moved here 3 years ago we felt like a part of a community. Now with office changes the new employees don’t seem eager to get to know tenants. if a friend is looking for a new apt, I’m less likely to recommend this place now which is something I would have in the past. But great location and facilities if you don’t want engagement
AC Not Working My AC was not working when I returned home from work and it was hot. I called and reported this to the Apartment Manager and within minutes Maintenance showed up and had my AC blowing cold air once again.

We enjoy living there--the staff is helpful, everything is clean and well kept. We have been part year residents for nearly 3 years and have enjoyed it immensely. The pool in the summer, the gym year round both make for an excellent experience.

Nothing fixed I have asked for simple things. Replace broken closet rod. Light for fridge and neither has been addressed. It’s almost 3 weeks.

Replace Smoke Detector German did a great job of quickly replacing my smoke detectors. My only issue is that when I submitted my ticket, I received an email indicating that I would be called shortly. I wasn’t contacted until the next day.

The drawback that would maybe caveat my recommendation to family or friends is that Building 1 is "older" and has some older building challenges - slow moving drains/pipes due to build up of hard water stuff in the pipes, elevator that regularly takes multi-day breaks. Also not happy with wifi - even now with new optimum - it can only be as good as the building install - and I don't get the speeds that I pay for.

Beautiful grounds. Well kept and very neighborly. Apartment is updated and service us always attended to quickly.
The annual amenity fee is a bit steep - especially considering they were in limited use during the pandemic. Rent was also a little on the pricey side when escalators went into effect when renewing the lease each year - sometimes my rent was more than a new move in. Otherwise great community.,

The complex has everything you would need, especially cleanliness and security.
We downsized from a ten-room house and find a two-bedroom apartment well suited to our needs because of the closet space and the openness of the balcony.
Slow internet; occasional problems with package delivery; at 20 years of age, the apartment is showing some signs of wear. The landscaping is wonderful; the location and amenities are great.
Internet is not up to par. Distracting that fire alarms always go off - if there was ever a fire, no one will take it seriously.,?time to update washer/dryer - front load.
Gaslight is a friendly, efficient and happy community. Everyone on the staff makes you feel at home.

If you dont depend on the internet or consistent tv service and just want a nice apartment it could be right for you, especially for short term situations. If you enjoy the sound of neighbors every move above and below and can sleep through anything this could be right for you.

I used to like this place but it has gone way down in my estimation. First of all, the rent increases yearly are onerous for someone on a fixed income. Then, the management changes have been frequent, and each replacement seems to be a little less effective than the one before. I have the sense that as this complex ages, Bozzuto is more and more using it as a training ground or a place to park employees who are not doing a great job. I no longer feel that it's value for money.

HORRENDOUS INTERNET SERVICE. It is a shame too. Other than the unacceptable internet service we are forced to purchase (< 1 MBPS), Gaslight is a great place to live with beautiful grounds and apt, nice amenities and a great staff. Unfortunately the mgmt company continues to drag it's feet on correcting the internet issue for 2 years.

People moved in below us and used their balcony as a smoking lounge (despite the very clear no smoking on the grounds policy) so we couldn't use our windows or balcony and our laundry room smelled like cigarettes. Despite us complaining weekly for 6 months when they smoked, the management always put the burden of proof on us. Even after sending photos they still believed the excuses and did nothing. So we moved out.

I am about half way through my first lease here and I chose this to the sister property given the floorplans. I understand the gym was recently renovated, but it isn't well maintained. It pales in comparison to Third and Valley's amenities. I have seen quite the turn over in the leasing office (I would like to note that Lisa is very helpful and prompt) and with the ongoing maintenance problems I have experienced with heat, air conditioning, water pressure and the garbage disposal, that has been rather frustrating. I hope that these issues are resolved soon so that I may begin to really enjoy my time here.

We lived at Gaslight Commons the past year and thought it was very nice. We would have stayed if not moving to another state. The pros for us were the community was well kept, the residents generally pleasant, and the staff was wonderful. They really went the distance to make you feel comfortable and attend to your needs, maintenance or otherwise. The cons were that rent felt a bit high for the distance from Manhattan, but in line with other larger properties. Additionally, there were semi-frequent fire alarms that would send the residents outside in the evening (maybe once every couple months), but the fire station is close so it was always resolved quickly. Also WiFi seemed to go out more often than one would expect (maybe 3-4 times in the year we were there) and take longer to fix than one would expect (1-3 days). Overall the upsides more than offset the couple small downsides. Also better value than 3rd and Valley. Close to the train and a short walk to beautiful houses on Ridgewood Rd.

There is a lovely sense of community here. The management staff is friendly and encourages it. It is a very comfortable place to live and the residents are very diverse and interact with each other with ease.

Gaslight Commons is a wonderful place to live. The apartment layouts are well thought out, the building staff is professional and cordial, there are many stores and restaurants within walking distance and the proximity to NYC makes commuting very easy.
