A perfect balance between New York City and the suburbs
- Public Transportation
- Rail Service
Jersey City has long enjoyed popularity as a commuter town, attracting folks who want to be close to Manhattan without paying Manhattan prices. But the city commonly known as “The Sixth Borough” is a thriving community in its own right, offering a healthy balance of resources and attractions that keep plenty of residents on the west side of the Holland Tunnel.
Journal Square is the center of the action, serving as the central business district as well as the hub for major transportation options. Closer to the Hudson River, areas like Historic Downtown and the Powerhouse Arts District are where you’ll want to spend your off-hours, with a wide array of restaurants, nightclubs, bars, galleries, and music venues, plus the nearby Newport Centre shopping mall. On the east side of town, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning views of the Manhattan skyline every day, and Liberty State Park on the southeast corner provides the closest look you can get of the Statue of Liberty without hopping onto a ferry (there’s even a foot bridge allowing you to walk to Ellis Island).

Living in Jersey City
Jersey City is a hub of transportation options. The Journal Square area is the motherboard of mass transit. Journal Square has trains that take passengers to 33rd St in New York, Newark, and other major cities. There are buses that can take passengers to the far reaches of Northern Jersey. If mass transit is not a preferred method, there are taxis lined up outside of the train station prepared to take city goers to their desired destinations.
