Property Ratings at Quarry
Upon entering the building you will encounter an old-school mail box and dingy, worn carpet and walls which may not create the best first impression, but open one of the ugly olive green green doors and be transported into a clean modern bastion of bright light and high ceilings. Recessed can lighting and hardwood floors make this spartan little apartments shine with character and, though the windows front on alleys on both sides of the building, they let in an uncanny amount of natural light. In unit washer/dryers are amazing and the kitchens have electric ranges, microwave, oven and a full sized fridge. Kitchens are small but manage to have an astonishing amount of storage space. Bathrooms are small but comfortable and receive plenty of light. My favorite feature of the apartment was the wide window ledges, large enough for potted plants, books, or use as a bench! The community is very quiet but friendly at the mailbox and has an active tenets association. The negatives of this community is the roof-top patio, which is a barren splinter infested wasteland infested with the most uncomfortable chairs that exist in this world (but it does feature views of a beautiful sunset over Rock Creek Park!), the price, and the sometimes questionable safety of the neighborhood I don't know if the management is trying to price out renters at this location but $1600 for 334 square in this neighborhood is nuts. Inside the apartment there was never any feeling of being unsafe but gunshots and chases are a frequent aural addition to the ambiance. The alley seems to be a favorite bathroom for gentlemen of the homeless persuasion and motorcycles and mopeds have been stolen and cars broken into. TL,DR; I love living here ,but am getting priced out and occasionally the neighborhood gives me pause.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review the Quarry. We agree that The Quarry is a wonderful community to live, and are striving to make changes to many of the concerns that you have. A few changes that have already taken place are the brand new hallways carpet and paint, a new mail box has been added, and the rooftop has been sanded and re-painted as well as expanded. Coming soon is the new roof-top furniture, wi-fi for the building and bike storage.
