Edmonds is a small suburban city located fifteen miles north of Seattle on the shore of Puget Sound. While the community serves as home base for many Seattle-area commuters, Edmonds’ thriving Downtown district near the waterfront hosts a huge and diverse mix of businesses. The dining scene incorporates regional favorites like fresh seafood and eclectic international fare, and numerous coffeehouses and neighborhood taverns serve as popular hangouts, largely clustered around the intersection of Main Street and 5th Avenue.
The community values the arts, with numerous downtown galleries and the annual Edmonds Arts Festival and Edmonds Jazz Connection showcasing the area’s creative side. The location is a nature lover’s dream: the Cascade Mountains are practically in your backyard, and ferry service across the sound to Kingston allows you to easily take a day trip to the Olympic Peninsula and explore the stunning Olympic National Park.

Property Ratings at Olympic West Apartments
For anyone considering finding a well placed apt, this is it.Plenty of grocery stores, restaurants, clothing stores (Alder Wood Mall) This is part of the reason I have been here for 10 years. The most important #1 reason is that there is peace here.Apt. grounds and building are well kept. We are a closed individual keyed apt. Only ones in are you and mail person. There is a garden in the middle of the complex to sit, just enjoy the sun, read or just breath some fresh air. Manager is great, friendly, quick to answer any questions. Turned out to be a perfect place for me. The owner even swings by several times a year to see that things are going smooth and to keep up the property. A wise choice for private people...
Overall these apartments are what you expect from an older building the the cost that it is at. I have been a resident for almost a year and it has been good to save money here. Pros: -Cost: 1 bedroom been paying 825 a month and our electricity is maybe around 75 for two months -Sound: it is really quiet, kid friendly but no rambunctious screaming children or parties. We live on the bottom floor and all we TRULY ever hear (and it's to be expected) occasional walking around squeaking of the floors of the people above (can be loud) and the occasional loud talker in the hallway. Its apartments so you are bound to have those sort of noises. -It has washer and dryer in each unit which is awesome. -Parking is great- manager makes sure that you have assigned parking. -Proximity to stores for grocery shopping -No smoking and clean (for the most part) -No carpet in the dining area! So awesome to have that! -manager is friendly and ready to respond to help with maintenance -the bedroom closet IS rather big full length and has a shelf above the hanger rod. Cons: -Appliances in the kitchen haven't seemed to be updated since the 80's -the drawers in the kitchen stick and are extremely screechy when opening. also make sure you get drawer mats for at least the ones we moved into didn't look like they had ever cleaned it was rather nasty. -no counter space to cook: once you put your microwave down on the counter you have lost your prep space. -Dark living room-- but honestly that's most apartments, you will need your own lamps -location of outlets, cable hook ups, and heat vents are in TERRIBLE locations, so you are limited with set up for your living space. -There is 0 storage -awkward layout for linen closet -Low shower head height. OVERALL: I would say that this is a good place to live if you are looking for true affordable housing, you will not find much better pricing. However you need to keep in mind that its not the nicest up to date place, but it will suit your needs, especially if you are young and trying to save money.
These apartments are nice. Not a big complex so not a lot of people. Smoke free and quiet. It has a secure entry. For am older building it's nice. Big apartments. Living room is pretty big. Just an awesome place to live.
