Property Ratings at MAA Katy Trail
I have lived here almost a year moved in June 24. -The freight elevator has been down nearly the entire time I have been here. I would be gracious to say that it has worked maybe a total of 45 days in total. The front elevator has gone out multiple times, leaving the building with no elevators and I know there is someone who lives on the floor that uses a walker...how are they supposed to get to their apartment? Completely unacceptable. When you send an inquiry about it, the response blames the residents. At this point just replace it bc clearly the small fixes are not working. -Trash piles up in the trashcans in the parking garages, and the dog walk areas around the building. The area around Carlisle Pl (astro turf) Absolutely reeks, it is not properly cleaned. -maintenance is a joke. You can put in tickets and a week later they will make it complete with the note saying they came by but no one home. however, they will NEVER actually come to your apartment nor make any attempt to contact you. I work from home, I can promise no has shown up. I also know multiple people who have put in tickets for backed up sinks, leaking dishwasher and clogged disposals - with water sitting for days and no one comes so the resident ends up calling a plumber. When they send you a renewal price for your lease, the price is higher....and when you try to negotiate you're told that this is the going rate for the area. Well, I am sure it is, however I bet the other apartments in the area have working elevators, fire alarms that don't go off in the middle of the night, appliances that break all the time, an actual maintenance crew that will show up, and I bet they don't have trash and dog poop overflowing in garbage cans. I love the area, but this apartment is not worth the money. Edit: the fire alarm has gone off 2 more times, the front elevator went out but was fixed - still nothing on the freight - but they sure don't miss sending out the routine "pick up your trash email"
Elevators are always down, fire alarms go off at random. Car theft, apartments getting broken into, homeless people in lobby. Visitors cannot get in because boxes at the front are not getting fixed despite the fact that they were replaced. Lights could light a light bulb. This building is more worried about finding new renters and making cosmetic changes than they are about prioritizing current residents. Many long time residents are moving out this year.

I’ve lived here for three months and was sent an email to leave a review on my experience so far. In these three months, the elevator has been broken, I kid you not, 4 times. One of the times it was broken around thanksgiving and it stayed broken for about three weeks. This means taking stairs or walking all the way around the building to the front elevator and walking all the way back to your apartment every single day. Also, when I first moved in they didn’t have the fobs so I would literally be locked out of my building even though they took my deposit and rent payment right on time. I was informed that this happened to 7 other move ins that week. Talk about unprepared and talk about an old elevator. If that sounds like a deal breaker to you, definitely do not sign here.

I cannot recommend living here enough! I have been here for two years and am sad to leave. Not only is the building and apartments up to date, clean, quiet, and safe, but management actually cares about their residents and are unbelievably responsive to any questions, concerns, or comments. The location is also unbeatable. Living on the trail is a major perk and I have loved being able to walk to west village or the heart of uptown. I tell everyone to live here, my experience has been fantastic.

Awesome staff, peaceful, clean, safe, convenient location and prices not so great but still in the OK range
Great location in the heart of Uptown Dallas. I park my car on Fridays after coming home from work and don't move it until I leave for work on Monday. Walking distance to a wide variety of shopping, restaurants and bars. I love having the Katy Trail, literally, in my backyard. The trail is prefect for the casual walk with my dog or getting my daily workout routine in. Friendly and easy to work with staff that cares about the tenants needs. I definitely recommend Post Katy Trail.
We enjoy the location, a convenient walk to West Village and easy commute into downtown. The management is friendly and responsive, but we've been disappointed in some infrastructure - specifically, the frequent interruptions in elevator service. Generally, we find the apartment meets our expectations.
Perfect walkable location, right off the Katy Trail. Access to the M Line trolley. Interior halls and unit are almost sound proof.
The view is great and it's a great neighborhood. There are frequent problems with the elevators and with the way the building is designed, this is a major problem.
I have been a tenant at Post Katy Trail for 6 years and love it here! The team is great on responses and always with a smile on their face! You can't beat the location!
I have lived at Post Katy Trail for 5+ years. The property is nice and I believe mostly appropriately priced for the value. My feedback for management: (a) we have been dealing with elevator issues for multiple years now, it would be wonderful to invest funds appropriately to get them both fixed as the building is only ~8 years old (versus painting the exterior orange/ lime, etc); (b) the new management should consider a new communications strategy instead of sending 'URGENT!' emails multiple times - the tone is demeaning and unnecessary for most of our community; (c) apartment pricing is interesting -- new neighbors who move in are paying less than long standing residents for bigger apartments -- I understand that there is an algorithm which helps dictate pricing... but more transparency would be helpful.
Overall, liked living at Post Katy Trail. Maintenance requests are always completed timely and the employees are extremely friendly. I think they try really hard to have activities each month to engage residents. I was extremely frustrated that, without any prompting or input from the residents, they took 15 parking spots from an already small parking garage and ?allowed? residents to pay a fee per month for the spots closest to the elevators. This is Texas, not Boston- why am I paying for parking?? For the building not being that old, there have been consistent issues with elevators; even when the elevators are working they are slower than molasses. The barrage of emails became such an annoyance that I stopped reading them. When they weren?t being condescending, they weren?t all that helpful or relevant. I also feel like feedback and requests aren?t taken seriously- whether or not the management has the ability to take action on requests I?m not sure but they seem to dismiss noise issues without concern. The safety of the garage is also hit or miss- the amount of break-ins seems to have gone up significantly and the response is, it?s not their problem call the police.
