Just beyond the north side of Charlotte, Huntersville is a primarily residential community in the northern part of Mecklenburg County (“North Meck” to locals). SCAMMERS!

My experience at MAA Huntersville has been 10000% HORRIBLE! From the top (corporate) down needs to be gutted. My apartment was NEVER cleaned in between tenants and full of mold. Instead of moving me to a much better unit, they only wanted to clean around me. DISGUSTING HUMAN BEINGS! This is what you want your legacy as a human to be? Karma is real and will catch up to all involved. This fight IS NOT OVER! Check your HVAC units, duct work, windows, linings of doors, carpets, dishwashers, exhaust fans, ceiling fans, pipes, very top of your showers for grout closings. Take my word for it..don't let them scam you into just seeing the model apartment. Treat these clowns like a car salesman..bring three people with you to inspect these apartments before you give up your money. Again, this fight isn't over! WORST place I have EVER lived!!

Do Not Move Here

My air condition unit went out in the 90 degree weather. No help from our latest office staff. "No one was in a rush to get it fixed. Management does not care. Quiet neighborhood but do not move here

Management is very unprofessional

Liars and unprofessional! For some unknown reason, after a few months of communication, MAA Huntersville canceled our application for transfer to a larger and cheaper apartment. It has been over four months and we still have not received our application fee refund. The ridiculous reason they gave is "Your forwarding address was spelled incorrectly". Does anybody understand what it means? How many words were "spelled incorrectly" that the post office was not able to deliver it? And how much time do they need to correct it? Shame to the company! Because, unlike MAA Huntersville, we were not late even one single day with our payments for ten months. So, we will never recommend MAA Huntersville as a good place to rent an apartment.

Choose another complex!

My wife and I moved into an apartment in this complex in April 2023 from across the country only to find out it was infested with German cockroaches. We had to jump through hoops to be relocated and have fought for 2 months to get reimbursed for all of the expenses we have incurred (which they still refuse to do). For the cost of this complex, there are many other choices in the area and would highly suggest to choose elsewhere!

Our team also ensured you were reimbursed for all moving costs and electrical hookups. Unfortunately the additional request of reimbursement for meals could not be completed due to an insufficient account of items within the 24 hours prior to the moving of the new unit. We deeply regret that you were affected by the issue, and work hard to serve our residents to the best of our abilities.

Walls and Ceilings too thin

Worst experience for my family. Inconsiderate upstairs neighbors. We hear EVERYTHING! Great location but not worth not having peace in your own home. Neighborhood smells like dog urine and poop. Can’t wait until lease is up.

I?ve lived at colonial Grand for almost a year and it has been such a refreshing experience. The location is close to shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The leasing office staff are also amazing! They?re so helpful and friendly, and they genuinely care for residents! Such a great place to live.

I love living here. In March, I will have been here six years. Only one person has been here longer than me. The grounds are well maintained and apartment maintenance is done in a timely manner. The location is so convenient to so many of the things that I use.

The only thing I am not pleased with is that the cable bill is attached to the rent. I do not need cable, but have to pay for it. Other than that... I am pleased with the community and the property management team. They are very attentive and do what they say will.

I feel safe at all times. It's very quiet except for the odd motorcycle now and then. My neighbors are friendly and helpful. My apartment itself is very nice, freshly painted and recently remodeled when I moved in. It's roomy. I have good-sized storage closet. The staff, from Brian and Al in maintenance to Michael, Curtis and Donna in the office are outstanding. I couldn't have found a better place to live.

Fabulous

I don't know what happened to others, but I have had no negative experiences. The office staff is out of this world. They are so kind, helpful and smart and the maintenance crew is terrific. I have a one bedroom apartment and it is very nice. When I moved in it was clean and freshly painted. The kitchen was remodeled. I have plenty of room. There is a nincompoop with a motorcycle who I hear once in a while. Other than that, it is very quiet here. The only thing that I could be happier about are the grounds. A company takes care of the grounds and they don't put a lot of love into. Could do better. One other thing, and it has nothing to do with management. Dog poop disposal stations with bags are supplied for dog owners to dispose of their dog's poop. Yet, I see dog poop and sometimes it is right by the disposal station! Someone is paid to come around weekly to pick it up. I do love it here and have no plans to move.

Very bad customer service. They are very rude. They all should be fired. Terrible place to live.

Good Luck

My A/C is out for the fourth time in four years. No help from our latest office staff. "Monday is the soonest". Pathetic. You are on your own with this office. Submitted a service request but mysteriously disappeared from their log. I now have a portable loud window unit for the next two days which will semi cool one whole room. Oh boy.

Worst experience !

Please avoid renting here. Staff is just rude and money minded. First of all we were very unhappy the day we moved in because the model apartment what they showed was very misleading. The house we ended up with was a basement type, dark and creepy. if they had shown us this house previously, we would have never rented it. After the first lease term they drastically increased our rent amount and when questioned they showed the "take it or leave it " attitude because of which we had to vacate and lose a lot of money and energy. They wont care about their renters satisfaction as far as they are in demand and somebody is waiting to move in. I have never given any negative reviews online but I could not stop myself from writing this so that innocent folks can avoid renting here. Colonial Grand management should be more careful in choosing their staff. I am so much hurted by the name colonial Grand that I am for ever done with this community. I am not renting it anywhere.

Very pet friendly

I love how pet friendly our complex is. Not only do many of the tenants own pets but there's a decent amount of room to walk your dog. All of us "dog walkers" seem to meet and chat and our dogs play, kind of like a kids play date. So there's definitely a sense of community with the dog owning tenants here.

I would have expected more

We have lived here a few years now but will not renew. In this time we have seen the property decline and our rent increase. The pavement has been torn up with no repair made in months, the pool was shut down last summer due to cleanliness. Other than getting gas grills at the pool, there have been no improvements to the property for the tenants at all. I would have hoped to see the improvement to the gym equipment which is very standard rather than new seating in the lobby. I have had family at the pool and have been embarrassed at the filthy bathrooms in the clubhouse. Not just a week dirty! Office staff is not that attentive to our needs. Seem bothered most of the time. Maintenance staff is two men. I request one to get the job done attentively and correctly. For what we pay which is standard for the area, I would expect a better quality which again, is standard for the area.

Close to everything, BUT renter beware !!!

Our family enjoys the fact that these apartments are in walking distance to most anything you need to do. BUT and its a big but, no pun intended, the management staff leaves ALOT to be desired. Everyone that gets put in the front office is either incompetent or doesn't care. Whether its the street lights taking forever to get fixed, good luck walking at night without a flashlight, or the grounds and pool being dirty because the head maintenance guy is off drinking while he's on duty, you will end up getting frustrated if you choose to rent here. The management doesn't address issues very well when residents bring up concerns. The office staff has their favorites and in my opinion they are either too scared to do their job or are just plain lazy; I actually think its both. Good luck if you choose to live here. While they are pet friendly they dont enforce the rules and very few people pickup their dogs waste. This place has rapidly gone downhill since we moved here and are actively looking elsewhere. Make this place your LAST CHOICE if you can help it

Colonial Grand Apartments

My wife and I (married less than a moth ago) needed to find a place as quickly as possible because of me changing jobs and us being newlyweds in the Charlotte area. We had mapped out a list of apartment complexes in the and spent most of the first morning looking at two bedroom apartments but none of the places we visited came close to meeting our needs. Fortunately we drove by Colonial Grand Apartments and decided to check out what Colonial Grande had to offer as Walk-ins and we are so glad we did. The same day we came in as walk-ins we left as renters. Colonial Grande's staff was super friendly and they had exactly what we were looking for in an apartment facility. They processed our applications and ran all of our background information and within a few hours we had keys to our first apartment. The apartments are very nice and spacious with high ceilings, beautiful layouts and floor plans, and to our surprise they even have washer/dryers included. We could not be more grateful!
