Frenchtown was once a mecca for Creole and Cajun culture with colorful patios, mouth-watering cuisine, and lively zydeco music. A part of the historic Fifth Ward, this area helped shaped the Bayou culture current in present day, but much of the original Frenchtown is gone. Today, the community is in transition with modest apartments, duplexes, and ranch homes. There are several religious centers in the community. The area is affordable as well.
