The section of Arlington bordering Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport just south of the Pentagon is largely a business and commercial district full of large high-rise buildings. Property Ratings at Marlowe VA
I have lived at Marlowe for 3.5 years now. Since Greystar took over management of the building, everything has gone downhill. Management chose to undertake every construction project possible at the same time and the resident experience has become miserable. Drilling of 90 decibels (the equivalent of a running chainsaw inside our home) has been registered inside the building. Work on our balcony took two months longer than we had been told it would. Management has been unwilling to compensate residents in any way for these deteriorating conditions. A leak in the garage took months to clean up and the broken garage door that allows Marriott guests unfettered access to our parking area has not been fixed. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

2-stars: the location is good, and units themselves are nice but changes from new management have created challenges living here. We've lost several benefits and amenities living here while seeing prices continue to increase. Things get broken around the property with no repairs made while continuing to charge residents for them.

For starters, the building is too old to justify the extraordinary rent prices. Had way too many appliances break. The community management team is usually unresponsive and generally doesn't seem happy to be there. Moving out was the worst part, we cleaned for hours but they hired a cleaning service and sprung the fees on me. It was an entirely subjective inspection that charged me for defects that were there from the beginning. You can do way better in Crystal City, I wouldn't recommend this place.

There was a constant hammering noise for months coming from an individual hammering nails into the floor all day long and especially at 3 AM. Management wouldn't evict the tenant for MONTHS while tenants complained they were unable to sleep. The parking garage was broken for the full duration of the time I lived here even after asking multiple times. They still charged $125 per month for a garage that hotel guests from next door would use for free. Not to mention how unsafe the garage was with random guests walking around and going into the building. Maintenance is another story. I needed a door fixed once and they left nails and all of their tools laying on my entry way rug for me to step on. Haley is the worst property manager. She doesn't care to fix anything or listen to any tenants. You won't get your security deposit back so say goodbye to that money. There are way nicer apartments in the area to choose from for lower cost.

The hammering noise is still occurring. It's been months and it is still waking me up multiple times a week. Really pleasant that you get to hear constant construction noise from outside, while also being woken up at 3am on work nights by something hammering in the walls. It's literally been months. Other issues exist, it's an apartment. But not being able to provide a quiet place to sleep is unbelievable.
