Lakeshore at Hampton Center

I lived here for 14 months. I called corporate and they gave me a case number and stated that someone will call me to address my issues but they lied and never called. From the started I should have left but because didn’t want to find another place I put my family in harms way unknowingly. The place was ant infested when we first moved in with the cabinets coming apart from the wall in the kitchen. The ceiling patched up from major leaks and sweating ductwork from the HVAC because the maintenance worker told me and I quote “the ductwork is not properly insulated so there will be moisture from them sweating.” With that being said stains popped up in the ceiling, the kitchen floor was always moist. I put in work orders and they would close them out as if work was completed and they were not. The property manager Melissa is a liar. Sh has no empathy and very unprofessional. She gaslights you saying you are being aggressive whenever you have an issue that they don’t want to fix. She told me and my wife that she would fix my issue and that she sorry for the condition that the property was in. Needless to say she did nothing. My rent due and the amount was wayyyy less than what the rent was suppose to be so I assumed maybe she was compensating us for pain and suffering that we are going through living in a place that smells like mildew and mold. No she called and stated that they made a mistake in they system and we needed to pay asap or we would be evicted. Mind you this is a week after the rent was due with no balance due. She pretty much played in our face the entire stay by lying. The maintenance men came and damaged my pictures because they was lazy and didn’t want to move or cover the items up and the only the property manager said was I need to file an insurance claim for property that her maintenance team messed up. There is so much I can write. The neighbors one door down fight every day I have camera footage of the dude choking his girlfriend and her fighting back. Shootings. Everyone who has a choice please avoid this place. They are not worth the price and the maintenance suck. The property manager lies and will never help. Multiple work orders for mold and never sent a a specialist to conduct a test for mold even when I stated that I have a kid with bad allergies and he has been getting worst. I am currently taking action and will provide update after results. See pictures.

This whole apartment complex is a joke the kitchen appliances CAME ALL BROKEN THEY DONT OFFER PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS they don’t fix the problems the will TELL YOU YOUR APARTMENT WAS IN GREAT CONDITION WHEN ITS WASNT they won’t care what you have to say about not liking the apartment and it’s overpriced for old appliances! If zero starts could be allowed I would’ve gave it that -100

This place when u first move in seems very good but after staying awhile the initial roach bombing fades off and they flood your apt REGARDLESS of how clean you are. Through vents and hard to reach holes through your apt. These are very old apts and the age shows in the pest situation

I’ve been here for a year and It’s now time to renew my lease. I’ve decided to stay another year. Yayy!! This place is awesome! It’s very quite the people in the office is very friendly! If you have any issues, they handle them ASAP! Annalise is my FAV GIRL! She’s always on me about these monthly events at the office. Which is GREAT! My son loves them. She makes sure my five year old and I are present every time. If you guys are looking for a new home, join us at ABBINGTON AT HAMPTON CENTER. You will not be disappointed ??

Annealise is sooo great! My move in was smooth and even after i moved in she was still very friendly and personable. The neighborhood is quiet and there is plenty of parking. The security door is great. I don't have any complaints.

My roommate and I found this location on accident! We were welcomed by Annelise and she is awesome! She helped us find exactly what we were looking for and was able to get us in during the timeframes we wanted to move. Great amenities, great price, view of lake is beautiful. We feel very safe and secure! They fix things right away and no bug issues!

I was looking for a place in the area, and was referred here by a coworker. The office staff is above professional and helpful! I am military and didn’t understand something that I was informed by the base. The lady that was helping me, had a military background and made a phone call to the base. She had all my questions answered and explained to me in no time. This apartment is nicer than what I have seen in the area and the staff is top notch!

This place has been nothing but great since the day I inquired. Marie helped me find a place that was suitable for me and my 1 year old and worked directly with me to make sure I moved in okay. She has been completely helpful with anything I may need. Annelise is also awesome, and very knowledgeable. She knows her facts and is always respectful and helpful. Nicole, who is new, brings a welcoming energy into the building. All 3 have helped me some form personally and I am very appreciative at that. The maintenance crew responds so fast! so that's always a plus. The clubhouse is new and clean, and the property always has events that were great to bring my daughter too. The area is pretty quiet and in a great place next to the lake. It's also pretty safe thanks to the security door outside each building. I would definitely recommended this property to anyone.

I have seen plenty of negative comments, but my experience has been nothing but the greatest! Very thankful for the great vibes the property manager has shown. Very friendly and quick to get things fixed! Love this place!

Great place to live starting in leasing office right down to the maintenance.fresh water lake! You can fish and feed the ducks and geese..even baby ducks at times.new appliances and wonderful view from balconey of lake beautiful hardwood floors new appliances and hallways to apts.are always lo ked.only you and other tenants of your building can get in..super safe and private.noise is not bad.Its an apartment so some noise yes but very minimal..I recomend 100% they have super friendly staff and maintenance is super fast..hardly no waiting.new gym and computer room coffee readily available in leasing office.cute sweet friendly girls there also.like I said..great place to live.I have no complaints

Parking is a huge issue. There are never enough spots, and they will tow your car if you have a guest over and they park in the wrong spot. There are more residents and guests than there are spots. Also, the area isn’t the best. We have had random strangers knock on our door in the late hours of the evening. My husband was on deployment, and I was at home with our two children, and two guys knocked on my door for 10 mins straight trying to sell me a supposed cleaning product. I called the police, and nothing ever came out of it. We moved a while back, to VB and are much happier.

We had rats came into our townhouse, dead rats in our backyard and the shed and, they still refused to let us out of lease. This company is filled with the most unethical people and is always trying to take every penny out of you. The buildings are old and poorly constructed. You can hear everything from next door. Don’t get fooled by “fancy” amenities. The apartments are nothing like those photoshopped pictures or their clubhouse. I so regret moving into Abbington at Hampton center. Just do yourself a favor and shop around. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE.

I am active duty and I lived in better places before joining the military. I will start off with the apartment itself. The wall are very thin if you are just sitting in the living you can hear every single one of your neighbors. You can honestly hear every word of your neighbors conversation with our tv on. The floors sound like they was gonna collapse every single step you took. Very big roaches and water bugs were spotted during the day every season of the year. Water did not stay warm despite multiple calls to maintenance. They messed up my monthly payments at least 4 times that I can remember over a 12 month lease. Weather it would be a money order or a online payment. I would then get a letter on the door saying I have a court date and a late few due. I had to speak to the office numerous times about issue I had. I had a package shipped to the apartment and they denied my shipping. It took me a month in a half to get a package I ordered for 1 day shipping. My car was broken into twice. Filed a police report, and did not notify the apartment complex of these issues after telling me they would. Before moving out, me and my wife did everything we could to clean up the house before moving out, we took 3 days from our job to clean up the house from the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room, and even the patio, and they still charged us a extra $400. I gave them a extra $250 and my security deposit and still owe them $200. Overall I am letting my higher ups know about this stressful year I had with them, and we are attempting on putting this apartment on the do not stay list. I don’t recommend this place for military or anyone of that matter.

The office staff is wonderful. The maintenance staff is professional and very prompt when answering calls. The office keeps my pavkages dry and cold if needed until I can pick them up. The office hours are great for people that work a "9 to 5" type of job.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. EVER! The website shows how nice it looks but the place is absolutely cheap and a ripoff. Everything falls apart and they charge you outrageous amounts to fix their terrible less than ikea standard cabinets. The place is INFESTED WITH ROACHES. I've had exterminators come a few times and treat this place regularly. I took an outlet off to see if I could find where they were coming from and saw a horror movie worth of roaches come out. My unborn children will have nightmares of what I saw it was so disgusting. THE WALLS AND CEILINGS ARE THIN. I wake up every morning to my neighbor upstairs sweeping her floor, I could hear every single bristle of the broom touching the floor (and I didn't think that was possible). I confused my neighbors phone with mine when it vibrated because I could hear their phone through the ceiling. PARKING IS TERRIBLE. There's been cars in the parking lot without wheels or on jacks that haven't moved since last year taking up all the good spots. If there was a Model T Car that parked here in 1932, it would still be here. CRIME. I was walking my dog when a shooting occurred in the complex. If the United Nations knew how bad this place was, George Bush would have invaded Abbington instead of Iraq. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, save the trouble of moving out and just DONT EVER MOVE IN HERE, EVER!!!!!!!!

The Abbington at Hampton Center is a wonderful place to live we have been here since 2006 and they have done an awesome job on making wonderful upgrades to the apartments and Townhouses our clubhouse has state of the art exercise center flat screen TV computer center with free fax machine coffee bar and and a nice swimming pool very close to a lot of stores and state of the art kitchens and bathrooms. They have done a lot to help everyone and me and my husband see I am a 51 year old women born with Cerebral Palsy and they do everything to help ime and all the tenants this is the greatest place I lived in a long time .Awesome place to live would not have any other

I love this company, I moved from another one of the properties to here because the townhouses. The people are wonderful and great service !

I have lived here for over 20 years. Even though the management has changed over the years the quality of caring has never changed. I have had a couple of opportunities to leave but as a single mom I found a safety in the neighborhood that I think is unmatched anywhere else. I love Abbington at Hampton Center, one of the best places to live on the Peninsula.

We are in a great area, right down the street from the Hampton coliseum, and peninsula town center. Plenty of restaurants and shopping. Our community has a brand new clubhouse with a gym and pool.

I found AHC on apartments.com. I was accepted elsewhere but when I visited AHC my search was over. I walked into a gorgeous leasing office with state of the art fitness and business center. The entire staff is simply fantastic. Maintenance staff is outstanding. I have a beautiful new kitchen with all stainless steel appliances and panoramic views of the lake. I'm 45 and starting over and AHC is my sanctuary from all the chaos of the past. Thank you

My apartment is great for me, I'm a college student and finding a low cost and decent apartment was hard to do, but with I was lucky in finding my apartment. Its clean and cute and the staff is extremely helpful and nice. All appliances work and seem brand new, I really love it here.

Abbington at Hampton Center is not bad. The amenities are very nice and the gym is nice and clean. All of their equipment seems to be fairly new. They have a computer room where you can use their computers and even provide free printing. All the employees I have encountered have been very helpful and courteous. The actual apartments are nice, all with new appliances. Very close to several stores and many things to do in the area.
