Property Ratings at GOAT/Peak - Holly View
I've resided at Holly View apartments for a year and a half, and my experience has been excellent. The well-maintained and organized leasing office and the courteous, professional front office staff, including Eliza, Selena, and Liz, have been incredibly helpful. They were especially supportive when I encountered financial difficulties after losing my job in June. Liz went above and beyond to help me catch up on payments, and she consistently shows understanding and compassion when I approach her with any concerns.
I went to visit the property as I hunt for a new place to call home for me and my son. The staff there was just amazing people good energy. I love everything about it I hope all goes well so I can call HollyView my new home…
these apartments are decent for the most part but there’s still lots of issues. -nearly once a week we receive notice that water service is out and we don’t know why or when it will be restored -there’s only 3 laundry places for the whole complex and rarely do they work. right now all of them are broken and they’re expensive at around $3.50 for a small washer and $1.75 for dryer. -they have no emergency maintenance service and our ac broke in the middle of summer and we were out of an ac at 90 degree weather for two days TWICE last summer -appliances are shoddy we had our fridge break down and all our groceries spoiled within days of us moving in, we’ve also had our microwave, fridge again, garbage disposal, and ac break down. but as for the fridge and microwave they were fast at replacing them so props to them for that. -when we first moved in we got a rent reduction because they didn’t give us a new carpet and it was quite crusty. however now that we renewed our lease the new manager (marilin i think) was quite rude to my husband when he tried to negotiate the same price or a new carpet and she kept cutting him off. communication is pretty bad between staff too because we got two notices with different renewal prices and the price the manager gave my husband was different than what another staff member gave me. as for pros: -they constantly have small events like pizza, ice cream, little celebrations for holidays -complex is pretty and very well maintained aesthetically with landscaping done every week -some of the staff is very nice especially the cleaning lady and maintenance men -most of the service requests we’ve made get fixed in about 2 days or less and one time the maintenance men even took care of fixing a drawer that was broken which was very thoughtful -rent price is okay for what you get -our neighbors have been extremely nice and welcoming and you can see this with residents all over the complex overall this place is livable but the staff seems to be putting their priorities in the wrong place sometimes. this place would be an amazing hidden gem if they focused on some of these issues.
At the beginning, I was really pleased with the rent price of this complex and it appeared to be pretty clean and acceptable for someone on a budget. I have stayed here for 2 years and have been dealing with sooooooooooooo many insects that seem to appear from nowhere. I wake up and I have bite marks on my face, legs, and arms. Its like little biting insects live in the carpet! Now, on to the parking! Parking here is VERY limited and if you plan on having guests I guess they will have to park blocks away in order to visit. They will tow any car for money! I get home from work around 4-5pm and there is NO where for me to park!!!!!! It is the most frustrating thing when you come home with multiple things to carry and high heels and you have to park a block away to get to your own home! I do NOT recommend this complex! Oh and on weekends, you can forget anyone leasing agent being available for you!
I lived here for 3yrs before moving out of state and came back for a job after 9months, It's a lovely apartment to live in, I never had any issues throughout my stay here, the staff are very friendly and will help you as much they can. The only problem will be if you have a child there are no too good school district assigned to the apartment address. The rent is descent enough and the apartments are spacious.
I enjoyed the year i spent here, management gave me no issues, living environment was nice, and the apartment was really great value for what I was getting in my opinion. Would recommend.
Roach/rat infested. My apartment was broken into numerous times during my stay here (4/2016-4/2017). They claim everyone has a gate key, but the gate remains open ALL THE TIME. They also claimed to have security, that was a joke. There are a few cameras around the property but they do no good. When my apartment was broken into twice, they wouldn't even pull up the camera to see if we could catch the guys in the act. They advertise this as a good area but it is not. Hollyview sits right off Antoine and runs parallel to De soto, so all the riff raff and activity from Antoine and De Soto bleeds right into Hollyview. The staff is not concerned with safety, only with payment. So if you own a gun and have renter's insurance come on to hollyview, atleast you can get partial reimburment when they steal your things
As a resident of 3 years, I have no complaints. The environment is pleasant and quiet for the most part.
Holly View apartments held our apartment for us until we moved to Houston. They've been very accommodating. Occasional lots of power, and water heater.
Holly View is an older complex but was recently renovated. It is very quiet and I feel safe here. There are security gates and security cameras throughout the complex. Children are welcome here and there is a play area for them with a Gazebo and plenty of BBQ pits.
