Property Ratings at Flats on Tanglewilde
I usually don’t leave reviews, but I’m honestly disappointed with how things have been since the new management took over. It’s been over a month and a half that the pool has been closed “for maintenance” with no real progress in sight. It’s summer — people want to enjoy the amenities we pay for, but it feels like management simply doesn’t care. What makes it worse is the way the office handles things. Every time I’ve asked for help, I’ve been met with bad attitudes and zero professionalism. They don’t seem to know how to prioritize what really matters for the residents. And to top it all off, they keep sending out violation letters and fees for residents not complying with rules — yet I don’t see them holding themselves to the same standard. Nothing seems to be done properly from their side first. I honestly regret renewing my lease for another year. Very disappointing experience.

The whole process was a breeze and so far the experience has been a good one.
I love my apartment! The entire staff is always helpful and nice. Any maintenance issue is always resolved promptly. The location, is what makes it even better!
Property Manager at Flats on Tanglewilde, Responded To This Review
Hi there! Thanks so much for letting us know about your experience with Flats on Tanglewilde. Should you need anything else please email us at FlatstanglewildeMGR@greystar.com
I am unsure about the safety of the area and seeing reviews of frequent break in's at this location.
My 2yrs at the fields Woodlake square was awesome. This was my first apartment and I absolutely loved it. I felt safe and no issues with break ins. I would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family.
If the staff is replaced then I would gladly move back.
I would but the only reason I didn'??t give a 10 is because we shouldn'??t be having some of these issues when we just moved in 3 weeks ago.
Honestly, I think the maintenance here runs better than probably anywhere else I've stayed. And this is coming from someone that usually moves once a year. Now as far as renewing my lease, well, the new neighbors like to nail stuff into the walls like they are running their own maintenance outfit or something. It might be too noisy for me to renew but we'll see.
Value for money. Built with quality materials. Close to everything.
I love these apartments, everybody is so nice and the staff is extremely professional.
I would recommend this property. Really great staff and super nice
I have lived here for more than 3 years now and there are very few things to complain. The staff has changed a lot, but has always been helpful and courteous.
A really nice place for a great value I would definitely recommend
I simply needed lights but I do think some items of maintenance could be applied to help the overall property. Mirrors in the garages!!! BY FAR #1. Multiple apts and floora complaining of fruit flies...which i think is in the air vents per chance...
i would recomend because its close and convinient to everything. But i wouldnt because the pool is always dirty, walls, door, floors are alwayse dirty, gods pee and poop all over, huge frogs & roavhes running around the hallway, smell of the drugs is terriable. i had terriable neighboord from all sides; loud and drugdealers. computer room always broaken
I wouldn?t recommend due to the inconvenience of the trash and parking garages from certain units
Wouldn?t because the professionalism far as communication is horrible and it?s very hard getting in contact with anyone in the leasing office during business hours. The gates and key fob around the community has been out of service for weeks now and has yet to be fixed.
We moved from St.Louis, MO to this city and were looking for something safe. This property looked safe though was costly. It appeared later that neither its so safe nor all the amenities that were shown work all the time or are efficient. Maintenance and intermittent water outages topped with rude staff made me move out 3 weeks before my lease ran out. Wont recommend.
This property been good too me. maintenance is great. The staff is nice.they have improved the facility to a great level. However, I am having issues with bugs. It gets really noisy by the swimming pool on weekends and mangment can not control who gets invited. Also, we had couple of break in this year
I moved here when they first built the place about three years ago. I thought my apt was small and moved out my 2nd lease. I moved back as soon as I could finish my townhouse lease. I need to be where the maintenance is quick & professional. I need to be where the office staff is friendly and professional. And, I needed to be somewhere that made me feel safe. Alta Woodlake Square does all of that and it doesn't hurt I can walk to the grocery store, Massage Envy, my dentist, and five restaurants.
I've been here a year now and still don't quite feel at home. The place is nice, has a new-ish look, nice amenities but there is nothing outstanding to justify the higher rental prices. I'm paying $1400 a month for living space that is smaller and less well situated than the mid rise I moved from in downtown Dallas. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy. I've seen a number of altercations and drunken pickups in the parking lot right outside my balcony. Entertaining. Dramatic. Not exactly supporting the sense of being at home though. Neighbors run the range from the really nice business guys who always stops to say hello to the family with way too many kids in the apartment who prop the door open to let the smells of cooking fill the hallway (the whole time the kids are screaming and crying). It's gotten a bit weird lately. I've seen people writing/drawing religious imagery in chalk on the hallway floor in front of their apartments. I asked one guy what it meant and he told me it was to keep evil out of his home. Seriously. When I walk from the parking garage to my apartment, I am now walking through halls that are slowly being transformed into some weird tenement building out of a movie that is subtitled and usually has a vampire running around killing everyone. I'm trying to figure out if I need to start chalking up my front door too. Otherwise...I'm doomed? Marked for death? My rent goes up? I'm moving out in a week. Found a new place with more square footage and $100 less and a lot nicer. (...just in case, I'm taking a piece of chalk with me....)
My wife and I moved to Houston after I graduated from grad school, we got married, went on a honeymoon, packed and shipped all our combined stuff, and had only one day to find an apartment (all in a 6 week timeframe). Plus, I started my new job and my wife quit hers and found a new one. Phew! The last thing we needed was a headache from our apartment complex. On the contrary, everyone at Alta Woodlake Square has bent over backwards for us to make the transition easy and accommodate our needs. We love our apartment, the grounds are well kept, the landscaping is great, the maintenance staff are friendly and responsive, and we have had no issues with noise or pets or parties. Plus, we are living within the Beltway for a good price and can walk to shops, restaurants, and the grocery store. With covered, gated parking included, and trash removal/onsite storage optional, there's really no reason not to consider living here. I can't think of any necessary amenities that are missing, and the staff are great! We love it here!
I'm retired from the US Army. I've seen and lived in many places during my tenure. I've met many people during my journey. I have called many places my "house" but not my home. The management staff here treated me as if I had just arrived back stateside from war. They "rolled out the red carpet" for me. This place is immaculate in every way--solidifying what a true home represents. The well-manicured lawns are something to behold--almost as if I had flipped through the pages of a magazine. This building, and all of its amenities, are simply breathtaking. There's no place like home...and that home happens to be my home at Alta Woodlake Square Apartments!
... Or at least that's what life feels like in my new digs. I moved to Houston from the uk and I felt a little bit like Gulliver. Houston is not the Lilliput in this story. Central location, top notch facilities, spacious flat and responsive staff all combine to make me feel thoroughly pampered and cherished. I love it here so much, I hate having to leave each morning to go to work. But I I'm excited to return. Yes,this is exactly where I need to be.
Both my wife and I, with a newborn, back in 2008 lost our jobs. We spent years getting back on our feet as I started a marketing business. This year, 2013, has been the year we are getting back to how we were in 2008. Our goal was to move into a community where we have better living conditions and the surrounding area is nicer. We wanted to keep within a price range. I have watched Atla Woodlake Square being built for awhile and as we were looking for a new home I remembered this place. My family and I went to visit and just fell in love with the location, workout area, pool, clubhouse (I call cafe and it’s my favorite part here next to our apartment), and the upscale apartment. Jerry and everyone in the office were extremely helpful through the application process. Moving into a newly built place we had a few things that needed some work. Maintenance, very nice guys, was on top of getting it done. We thank Atla Woodlake Square for so graciously welcoming us. We can’t wait for the next resident party at the pool.
