Camden Potomac Yard

My roommate and I have been here for 2 years. Beautiful building in a great area. The whole building stinks of weed. Seeps into my room every night, stinks up our apartment in the middle of the day... everywhere.

I moved to Camden Potomac Yard a little over 3 years ago and I can honestly this is the best staff around. Johnstone and Jasmine are amazing. Always friendly and willing to help. In other apartments I lived in I would dread calling maintenance but not here. Whenever I submit a request I know I either DJ, Chris or Marcus will quickly address the concern and make sure to explain they why's, when's and how's it would be resolved. And when you see the staff around the property you can guarantee you will get a smile, a wave or a friendly jab about your favorite football team.

I’ve lived in multiple different apartment communities and I’m so proud to call Camden Potomac Yard my home. Even before the staff knew I was a Camden employee, they treated me with nothing but kindness and professionalism. The maintenance team is awesome- always fulfilling service requests in a timely manner. The 24-hour concierge is so convenient and it’s nice to see friendly smile when I go to pick up my packages. On top of the amazing staff, I absolutely love my apartment! From the sleek, modern finishes, to my beautiful Washington DC view, I truly couldn’t have chosen a better place to live.

My family and I have lived at this apartment well over a year. And we have had this on and off issue where there are flood lights that shine upwards to illuminate the archway, which also shine into our son's bedroom- 1 year old, now 2, in a crib. For months they have promised us black out shades because their regional manager insists on having the lights on. Last correspondence was in October of 2018. Their answer was to turn the lights OFF. This review is now Dec 22, 2018 and there still has been zero remediation to the windows and the lights are back ON. Having the lights on are not allowing us to sleep very well and the managers here can care less. We get e-mail notifications to revise our lease by adding a 30-day additional car pass. But apparently addressing sleep deprivation by paying tenants is not high on the priority list. Live here at your own risk.

I’ve loved living here for th time that I’ve been here. It is in a beautiful location, with amazing staff, and lovely neighborhood. Me, my husband, and our two fur babies have felt so welcoming by the community!

Recently visited a friend of mine that lives here. I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff there was. Barb , Jeanean, and Tierra was so sweet. The interaction they had with the residents and their pets were fantastic. Truly a breath fresh of air. Keep up the good work.

These apartments are great. Not too much space but just enough and its within walking distance to the local shopping areas. The amenities are awesome. Ms. Hunter allowed me to view a one bedroom unit. The kitchen was my favorite, very cute!! The view was so peaceful and you would think by being not too far from the airport, it would be noisy! Not at all, I actually enjoyed watching the planes take off!

The day-time concierge staff is very rude and unprofessional. I lived at the property for a little over 18 months, and this concierge was very unwelcoming with each encounter I had with her. To the point where, I'd only came downstairs during evening or weekend hours to avoid contact. Overall the apartment was decent, and the location was accessible to everything. It did smell like trash A LOT because the compactor was always broke.

I grew up with Camden apartments across the street and have always heard that they had exceptional customer services and amazing apartments. I was in a bit of a time restraint to identify an apartment and decided to go on a tour. I signed that day and Tiera made the process super seamless. She showed me a couple apartments and I instantly fell in love with the first showing. She walked me through the signing process, moving process, and did an amazing job checking in on me during the transition. We all know moving in is stressful, but Tiera did everything she can to make sure I was comfortable. The staff and neighbors are amazing. Location is amazing - 24/7 Harris Teeter, LA Ftiness, Massage Envy, Potomac Yard Shops, Navy Fed, Dry Cleaners, and a walk away from Crystal City/Pentagon City, 2 miles away from Old Town, Right outside DC, close to DCA, and the best part is that we're right outside Mt. Vernon Trail. I look forward to seeing all that Camden has to offer as I live her. So far, so good.

My husband and I lived at Camden for a little over 5 years, and we had a fantastic experience. The community is in the perfect location! Close to crystal city (within walking distance), right next door to a harris teeter, within walking distance to target/best buy/TJMax, but also not right in the middle of the "city feel." It has a more private feel, but within 5 minutes you can walk to the action (restaurants, night life, etc.) For over 5 years we called Camden Potomac Yard home and if it weren't for finding the perfect townhome out near my job, we would probably still be there. The price at potomac yard was right, the renewal increases were very reasonable, the staff was great, and you really can't beat the building. My favorite amenities: Nice business center with a printer. Nice size pool on the roof with lots of room for sun bathing. Fitness center with towel service. I was a big fan of the underground parking, especially in the winter time. The view of the airport is so neat! You have very little noise from the planes, and you get to enjoy seeing all different types of planes coming in and out every day. My husband, our cat and one dog loved this apartment community and we will miss it. Hope this helps other renters in the area!

Camden Potomac Yard is an incredible place to live. I work near Pentagon City and have direct bus access straight into my job. Only minutes away, and my department covers the fee. It is just minutes walking from downtown crystal city, which has a nice restaurant scene. The building is very nice, and also very quiet which I like. I use the fitness center almost every morning. I rarely use the pool, but I do lay out on the rooftop. One of my favorite features is the Harris Teeter just steps away. Not only is Harris Teeter the nicest grocery store around, but it is in your backyard! In conclusion, I would just like to say that Camden is a very comfortable place to live. The staff is wonderful, the location is perfect, and the price is right.

I have lived at this property for 4 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. The management is always very present when you need them to be, but if you just want to be left alone, they will respect your privacy as well. All requests for maintenance were handled timely and correctly, and I never had an issue with getting through to someone, front desk or management. The pool was a little tiny, but the jacuzzi on the roof was very clutch when I would come home from hockey sore and barely able to walk. Overall, if we weren't moving out of state, we would continue to live here. The area is really growing and blowing up. There is public trans and bike-share right outside the front door. Its not that loud either, I live on the corner apartment right by the airport and trains, and barely hear anything. Thank you Susan, Kenny, Barb, and the Camden Team for a great 4 years.

I could not be more impressed with the cleanliness and quality of this apartment complex as a whole. It is literally a stone's throw from Harris Teeter, the bus stop, dog park and LA Fitness, and my husband and I feel we found a slice of heaven here! This is a very dog friendly complex, and the renters are very conscientious of keeping their dogs close and cleaning up the very beautiful and convenient dog parks. I recommend that if you like to open your windows, you do not rent on the first floor, even if you have a dog, since the windows do not open. The third floor is a perfect distance to run the dog out anytime of day by way of the stairs, and a great workout! We love the standard for excellence that we found with the staff, who made sure that we were completely satisfied prior to moving in, sight unseen.

What I absolutely love most about living at Camden Potomac Yard is that it is 10 minutes away from pretty much any place in the DC area. Has a spectacular entrance and the walls are fairly thick for an apartment complex. I never have issues with noise and any issues that I do find the friendly staff downstairs takes care of for me. The people that work here remember my name and make you feel very at home and welcome. Additionally they keep the grounds extremely clean and bug free. What's even better about this particular apartment is that they are open to changing things if residents complain. For example we have speed bumps in the lower garage and previously somebody complained that the speed bumps were too large and in fact they were they were scraping our cars but after a quick complaint before we knew it they put in smaller much better speed bumps more suited to sports cars. Overall Camden Potomac Yard Apartments is an excellent place to live and I would recommend it to anyone.

Camden potomac yard is an apartment in a good location. The amenities are attractive including a great view etc... However, considering the pricing of the units there are a few factors that are lacking. For example, Several renters have continuesly complained about the frequency of elevator breakdown. I did not think much of it until a few month back where one elevator from each building was not working and because I live on the 10th floor, my wait time was almost over 15 minutes and several times I had to take the stairs. As this happened to many other renters in the building they get frustrated and take the stairs resulting in one elevator opening at every floor and slowing down the process even longer. In addition, the staff does not give an accurate response to residents of when the maintaince of the elevator will be completed etc... Secondly, the quality of the units and service attentiveness can be faulty at times. I've experienced is a leaking ceiling during a thunderstorm that happened a few weeks back. The rain was pouring and had I not been awake to place a bucket, it would have resulted in the damage of my furniture. My service request was simply put aside as there were many other damages and leaks the maintainance had to resolve in that week. Overall, the quality of the apartment may seem good from the outside but there are some major issues that do not match the pricing of the units.
