Property Ratings at Bell Starwood
Pros: location is convenient, my unit was relatively quiet, because I had an attached garage, I didn’t have to deal with parking concerns, maintenance is responsive and friendly. Cons: Apartment was not move-in-ready. Floors were gouged and needed completely replaced, blinds and outlets were broken, missing, and cracked, patio door was jammed, kitchen sink was leaking profusely, washer and dryer were not installed, and the refrigerator and microwave were not plugged in. Paint splatter and grime all over the kitchen Poor insulation- my electric bills were over $400/month in hot months with A/C at 74 and lights off. Poor quality of fixtures- “upgrades” were made to fixtures that didn’t need them leaving them in a worse state than when I moved in. Fixtures and cabinetry were mismatched. HVAC was so noisy I never adjusted to the loud banging and slamming when it turned on and off. Staff in the office do not answer phone and have turned over completely at least 3 times in the 2+ years I lived there. My (exorbitant) move out charges were never sent to my account portal and were then sent to a collection agency despite me not ever having an opportunity see or pay them. I broke my lease to move out of this community.

These are just as beautiful inside as they are outside. This place checked off all my boxes: townhouse/homey feel, not boxy (I have high ceilings), a unique layout, and close to entertainment (you can walk to the star). The street signs and lanterns give the neighborhood that nostalgic traditional feel. The pool is cute with a hotel boutique feel. Maintenance shows up at your door as soon as you hit send and each time they come with a smile. The leasing staff is the best I’ve encountered: easy to talk to, kind, and fair. I’m happy that my final rental experience is here... it is truly the home before you buy your first home.
Some apartments have outdated, rusted, and small AC units. We were unfortunate enough to get one of these on the 2nd floor. Its impossible to get the apartment below 78 degrees in the evening. The AC was constantly running which made our electric bills $300 a month, in a 2br apartment... Its a constant struggle. They suggested we get shades, which we did but there was basically little difference. Parking is also annoying.
The apartments themselves, are okay, not worth what you're paying for them, but okay. The management is the real problem with this complex and the reason I would not live here again, nor recommend it. Once you sign the lease there is not a whole lot you can do to remedy any problems that arise, and they are very aware of that. You're only recourse is to beg. Beg to fix things, beg to honor previous agreements made by the management. Make sure everything they say to you is written down and that you have a copy, because they will not be bothered to look into your file and they will give you the run around and pass the blame all day. If you're considering living here, I'd look elsewhere.
Luxury?! According to who?! Maybe the homeless. Office staff Jenny & Javis are rude. Apartment sucks. Customer service sucks. For the price you pay here, go elsewhere. You'll get better service and a much better apartment. Renters BEWARE!!!
Great community to live. The staff is wonderful. Well maintained property. We're located close to the mix of everything the metro area provides.
It seems as though this complex is just trying to keep up the minimal amount of maintenance in order to sell to investors and get the highest return from their investment. Which for me is annoying. We pay the same rate as a new complex, but don't have the same luxuries. I wish I had done more research before signing a lease. The pool is only big enough for 4 or less people, the gym is always dirty, and the tanning bed is beyond disgusting. The leasing agents don't really show any of the amenities during the tour, and I found out why soon after I moved in. I would never recommend anyone to live here.
