Memorial is a lush, leafy neighborhood about 10 miles west of Downtown Houston. The area is considered to be one of the best suburbs in H-town with its easy access to top-performing schools and plentiful amenities. Memorial is known for its variety of architectural styles. You’ll find verdant front lawns complementing old Georgian-style homes, bungalows, and cottages along with newly developed townhomes and condominiums throughout the suburb. Memorial gives residents a break from the urban streets of the city with admirable parks in and around the neighborhood. Edith L Moore Nature Sanctuary is great for relaxing hikes and wildlife sightings across 18 acres of land. Although some parts of the neighborhood feel like you’re immersed in the forest, you’re quickly reminded that Memorial is a classic suburban area with its wide range of amenities. There are plenty of shopping and dining options within Memorial and in neighboring communities.

Property Ratings at Ascension On The Bayou
Do not move here. The leasing team is horrible. They are lazy and do not help at all. The elevators are constantly going out. Maintenance sucks as well. Just stay away from this place.
I've been here, coming up on two months now, and it has been a great stay for me and my kids. Coming from the Katy area to the city, I wasn't sure what to expect, but my time here has made us settling in a pleasant transition. The staff has always been very helpful and kind and especially to my kids(Big plus). I've had only a couple of minor maintenance request and both were taken care of quickly. It is pretty quiet where I am at, and I don't hear the highway at all, and rarely hear my neighbors, save for the occasional excitement from the courtyard. Speaking of neighbors, all that I have met so far, in passing or at on-site events, have been really nice. Amenities are in abundance here. We have yet to even take advantage of them all of them. The kids love the courtyard and fire pit(their backyard), the Saturday breakfasts, and of course, going on the Bayou hike/bike trails next to the complex every chance we get. Not having the need for an assigned parking spot yet, since there is plenty of room between the 2 larger parking levels, is great too. All-in-all my stay has been great so far!
The staff goes out of its way to make residents thrive. They surprise residents on their birthday's with handwritten notes and gift cards and give flowers to couples on their anniversaries. There is a focus on community that creates such a healthy living environment. I am encouraged to be a part of this community.
