About This Home
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate short-term stays. Two lease length options: Sept 1, 2025 to Aug 31, 2026 -or- Nov 1, 2025 to Aug 31, 2026. No broker's fee!! Enjoy comfortable living in Boston/Cambridge, conveniently located walking distance to Harvard (0.3 mi from SEAS, 0.8 mi from HBS, 1.0 mi from main campus and 4 min walk from free Harvard campus shuttle) and Boston University (1.5 mi). We are not far from MIT (2.2 mi, 7 min drive) or other local universities such as Boston College, Northeastern, Simmons, and Tufts. Just half a mile from Trader Joe’s (grocery) and the Charles River (the Cambridge/Boston border), we are a convenient and safe walk into Harvard Square or Central Square (Cambridge) and are part of the vibrant Allston-Brighton neighborhood of Boston, with lots of restaurants, bars, coffee/bubble tea shops, and more. More on location: We are a 3min walk to multiple bus stops that connect to the red and green T (public transit train) lines. Or, walk directly to the T green line (Harvard Ave stop) in just 20min; Harvard Square and Central Square T red line stops are 25min by foot. Take a less than 10 min walk from to Joe's, Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, Swiss Bakery, and restaurants/other great amenities! Also within easy walking distance are the Charles River running trails, Harvard running tracks (open to public), and the Harvard athletic complex--gyms, pools, etc. (which any Allston resident can access at a very low community member price without a Harvard affiliation). The house: Your apartment is in a two-unit multifamily home, where you will have the entire second floor. The two units share a main entrance, but each unit is behind a separate locked door ensuring privacy for all parties (see details in photos at bit.ly/AllstonApt). The home is in a quiet neighborhood, and we seek respectful tenants who will treat our home with care. Your space: Your apartment is on the second floor, up a flight of (private) stairs. There is a large bedroom with a full-sized bed, dresser, side tables, and two closets; a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo; an open floor plan with a large living area (TV, full-sized futon, lounge chair, large work/eating table) and a well-equipped kitchen. Kitchen appliances include a regular-sized refrigerator/freezer, coffee machine, new microwave, and new electric stovetop/oven, and there are plenty of pans, dishes, glassware, etc. It's easy to work from home anytime using the high-speed wifi. Or, you can relax using the 50-in Fire TV (4K UHD smart TV). Please note that the artwork has been taken off the walls, but the large mirrors remain. Utilities: Tenant pays natural gas and electric bills. We pay water/sewer and provide fast wi-fi. Air conditioning can be provided with a portable unit that we would install. It cools the entire apartment well; it's 14,000 BTUs, rated for up to 500 sqft. Rules: Since this is a residential neighborhood, we do not allow you to host parties or extended-stay guests. There is absolutely no smoking inside or outside our property. We also do not allow firearms on our property. No pets or animals are allowed inside the house anywhere. The downstairs unit is off-limits, and downstairs tenants will never enter your apartment. Laundry: While there is not a clothing washing machine/dryer in unit, there is a nearby dry cleaners with a reasonably-priced wash and fold laundry service 0.4mi/7min by foot and a laundromat 0.7mi/13min. Parking: We have an alley driveway which is suitable for one car only and costs an additional $150/month in rent. And, there is free street parking with resident permit.
