Property Ratings at 2020 Congress Ave S
I'm a resident at the 2020 condos on s congress and in a 1 month of living there I have become victim of identity theft due to my mail being stolen out of the mail facility, when I asked other residents they all informed me that this is a regular thing and we all share the equal frustration of never knowing who to contact, homeless people seem to congregate under the apartment where parking is and local kids from the school vandalize the property. Nothing has been done by property management all they do is ask that you contact police. I regret signing a year lease and I recommend to everyone thinking more than twice before even looking at the property..it is fools gold.
This property is great! Beautiful and clean inside. Gym and pool are clean (my only wish is for a few more weights in the gym). Utilities are paid and Google fiber is at this property, so the basic plan for internet was free. Walking distance from TONS of great Austin authentic eats and entertainment. Walking distance from grocery store as well. The landlord, Preston, was awesome! I hardly ever needed anything, but when I did, he fixed things quickly, and communicated well.
I like living so close to Congress shops. There have been problems with the porter service- keeping up with things like dog poo and trash. Gross. I wish the neighbors were more neighborly. Overall not a bad spot. I'll live here for two years most likely.
Location. Location. Location. This isn't just the opening line of a 1984 Real Estate 101 video series, it's the perfect way to describe this building. In the coveted 78704 zip code, you're either walking distance or a 5 minute car ride to all of the greatest hits on the South Austin mixtape. While the apartments are small and somewhat expensive, they've undergone renovations that make them cozy and modern. Hardwood floors and outdoor balcony space are just a few of the characteristics you can expect at 2020. If you're looking for anything over 1,000 sf per bedroom, you're out of luck. But if you're looking for the place that your friends are going to want to meet up at before a night out in South Austin, you've found your glass slipper. (I don't know if that makes any sense.)
