Finding Apartments for Rent in Hoboken, NJ

Hoboken, NJ, is in the high range of medium-sized cities in the state of New Jersey. This active city's population is 50,794, making it the state's 27th largest municipality. The majority of working people residing in Hoboken are employed in business as executives, managers, support staff and sales personnel. Many residents work in the financial industry. As a colorful addition to the city's persona, Hoboken is also home to many artists. In fact, this city has more working artists, media experts and designers than 90 percent of all American towns and cities. Another big industry in Hoboken is computer technology. This city has a large population of young adults from 20 to 40 years of age who are engaged in professional careers. Many youthful inhabitants of Hoboken are single, well-educated and high-achievers in both business and their personal lives. With most of the shopping venues for food, clothing, practical necessities and amenities central to each locale, residents enjoy the convenience of buying all they need within a short walking distance from their homes and apartments. The main neighborhoods of the city include the following:

    Sinatra Drive/2nd Street

This neighborhood and the main drive central to it are named for the famous singer, Frank Sinatra. It is comprised of high-rise and low-rise apartment buildings in which dwellers are a mixture of renters and unit owners. This is a good area for people who either have wealth or enjoy the company of other people who do. This neighborhood is actually more affluent than 99.2 percent of all neighborhoods nationwide. In addition, this section has a very low level of child poverty and crime. This section of Hoboken also has more residents with at least an undergraduate college degree than 99.9 percent of neighborhoods throughout the U.S. today.

    Bloomfield Street/14th Street

This neighborhood is somewhat less expensive for living than Sinatra Drive/2nd Street, but still in the upper cost of living percentages. It offers a charming combination of high-rise and low-rise apartment complexes as well as small buildings with rental units. This residential section also attracts both apartment and condominium unit renters and owners. This neighborhood is a very popular area for old and new residents. Many dedicated patrons of the arts live here, attending concerts, gallery openings, ballet performances and theater productions. They travel and enjoy life, but are also deeply involved in their work and professions. Executives, professionals and managerial staff comprise over 75 percent of the working residents now living in this area. This section of the city is quite densely populated and attracts a large number of young working people.

    Park Avenue/11th Street

This neighborhood is less costly for living than either the Sinatra Drive or Bloomfield Street sections. There are many small-to-medium-sized apartment complexes here as well as some high-rise rental unit buildings. This area includes many buildings constructed earlier than 1939 along with numerous modern structures. This area of Hoboken is also home to many business executives, managers and other professional workers. Nearly 75 percent of residents here have acquired at least a college bachelor's degree. Residential real estate in this section is, for the most part, very well maintained, and many residents drive luxury model cars. However, this neighborhood has one of the largest percentages of public transportation commuters among all Hoboken neighborhoods.
