Wonderful place to live- resident of 4 years
I've had a great experience living here! It’s a wonderful community with beautiful views, excellent amenities, and a comfortable, stylish environment. The management team is awesome as well- super sweet, responsive, and helpful! The location is also super convenient—close to everything downtown and just a short drive to most places around RVA. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great amenities in the downtown area!

Love it here!!!!
Very clean, management is professional and always go above and beyond to socialize us with neighbors in unique ways. Also very safe area within the greater downtown areas as its near corporate buildings and we have night security and locked garages.

I have never lived in an apartment where serious maintenance problems were completely ignored despite repeated requests to have them addressed. The problem has been ongoing for over one month and remains unresolved and at present is not even being acknowledged or addressed by maintenance. Overall, it’s a nice community. Conveniently located. Main downside is the material the floors are made of. The concrete floors (which is the ceiling of the unit below) are thin slabs of concrete. The concrete amplifies noise of objects hitting the floor (from a penny hitting a floor, sweeping with a broom, furniture being moved etc). If there was carpet placed in the bedrooms (with padding underneath) that would minimize the noise disturbance (especially at night).

Disappointing Experience
This apartment complex gets two stars. One for the location and the second for the aesthetics. The complex is very attractive, but cheaply made. Do not let the concrete floors deceive you. They are extremely thin. The concrete combined with no carpet amplifies the noise from above. I can hear the tenant above stomping around amongst other noises. I’ve contacted management twice. First time, no response. Second time a delayed response informing me that they emailed the tenant. To be fair, if you have someone above you that is considerate or simply a soft walker and isn’t excessively active, you may not have this issue, but considering the possibility that you may be one of the many unlucky people who are below a tenant who’s similar to the one above me, my statement should be taken into account. The concrete ceilings will not save you, and management will not be eager to address the issue, let alone try to resolve it. The wall that separates my apartment from my neighbor is extremely thin. I can hear him cleaning his kitchen as if he was cleaning mine. When he’s opening and shutting his cabinets it sounds as if mine are being opened and shut. When he cooks, it’s as if he cooked in my apartment. When he pops popcorn, it’s as if It were popped in my apartment. Every smell seeps into my apartment from his, and every noise is heard. Luckily I’m in a corner unit so I only share one wall. The package situation is bad. Not enough lockers for packages and the carriers are not all granted access to bring packages to the upper apartments to sit them at the doors. If you order food/groceries you will have to go down to meet them. To sum it up, if door service is important to you, you won’t receive it here. This is the first apartment complex that I lived in where the office is closed on the weekends. It can be an inconvenience. If this is an important feature to you, you won’t receive it here. The pipes behind the mirror in my bathroom start to move and hit the drywall when I use my sink. The noise persists for a few minutes. There is also no storage space. No coat closet either. If these are features that are important to you, you won’t receive them here. Overall, this apartment complex looks great, but is subpar. If you are a person that doesn’t like an EXCESSIVE transference of noise and smells from the people next to and above you, look somewhere else. It will happen and management will be of no value when trying to address it.

Terrible apartment complex
Worst place I have ever stayed in thanks to the horrible management. The location is the only good thing about the apartment but there is nowhere for guests to park. They will tow your car at a moments notice and offer no recourse. The common areas are often dirty and there are minimal amenities for the costly price. Do yourself a favor and find another apartment.

Horrible management, way overpriced for what you get
STAY AWAY! The front office is so hard to get ahold of - they don't answer the phones during business hours or return voicemails. You weren't allowed to come into the office due to covid so it was impossible to get in touch with any of the front office people. They also kept the majority of our security deposit (over $200) due to a "cleaning fee" but during our moveout inspection they said everything looked great. We had only normal wear and tear, hired a cleaner, and even took pictures prior to moving out. When we asked about the cleaning fee they told us it was for "dry wall damange and cleaning" but could not elabroate more or tell us where they found the damage. They told us they did not deal with our account since we moved out and gave us a number to their corporate office if we had questions. Also the public areas (like the rooftop pool area they show off so much on the tour) closes early evenings. So you end up paying for amenities you don't have access too. I've lived in multiple apartment buildings and this was by far the most frustrating to live in due to management. Save yourself the trouble and rent anywhere else but here.

Management does not care about you, only your money
The locks tower is the perfect place if you love dog crap in front of your door, sharing your packages with everyone, having your car door handles tested by strangers, and being harassed by other residents. This is FAR from any luxury apartment I have ever stayed at.

This is overall a good place to live. I feel I've really been able to make the space my own. I can tell that the designer of the floorplans cared to go above the bare minimum- the amount of storage in the bathroom and kitchen is great, and the huge closet is also a great bonus. Everything is new and very functional. I also never realized important it is to have a good washer/dryer and dishwasher are till I moved into an apartment that came with good appliances.

The Locks Tower is located in the heart of the Richmond cancel walk. It has spectacular views of the James River and provides easy access to vast outdoor recreational areas. Overall, each apartment has beautiful features and is an excellent building for people looking for a tranquil space with ease access to downtown RVA.

Do not move here if possible avoid at all costs this building is not luxury and is run by incompetent children.
