The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Cosmopolitan at Lorton Station
I have lived here for over a year. I have a wonderful 2 bedroom apartment with 10 windows. I live in a quiet hallway and can go weeks without seeing my neighbors. It’s clean and quiet. If you need maintenance repairs they are done in 24 hours and you can put a request in on the app. Management is professional, friendly, and they do a lot of community events and even weekly food trucks for the residents. It safe and the garage is secure. It’s in a single family home neighborhood and has shops next door! 5 miles to fort Belvior! I’ve never lived in an apartment and it’s been a good experience.
Property Manager at The Cosmopolitan at Lorton Station, Responded To This Review
Hello Anonymous reviewer, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a thoughtful review. We are glad that your apartment is a place of bliss and enjoyment for you. We appreciate the honest feedback and look forward to continuing to serve you for the years to come! Here at The Cosmopolitan, it is you, our residents, who continue to make this a special place to live. We love our team and look forward to providing excellent service every day! Sincerely, Giselle Austin Assistant Property Manager
Kim, our property manager, and the management team of Lachyra and Melissa go FAR beyond to make residents happy. Each month, they host a Happy Hour for the residents where the whole team stays late past 7pm to provide a get together with beverages and other refreshments. Last Friday, Kim slow-cooked taco beef and chicken for everyone to enjoy with taco shells, re-fried beans, sour cream, and all the fixings. The company and drinks were already a pleasure, but a whole meal was an unexpected treat. Lachyra tirelessly mixes punch while also serving packaged drinks while Melissa takes care of everything in between. Not to stop there, but Kim also personally visited every apartment in the complex to swap out trash cans as our refuse disposal contract switched. All day Saturday until well after 8pm, she went door-to-door exchanging containers rather than force busy residents to come down and swap them out ourselves. Melissa also went through our multi-building complex Sunday replacing remaining containers instead of making people take an extra trip downstairs. If you stay at the Cosmopolitan be prepared to be amazed at the tireless dedication of our leasing/concierge staff. Thanks, Ladies!
I have lived in the Cosmopolitan back when it was called the Metropolitan and the differences between now and then are only showing improvements and I've lived in three separate apartments in the complex. Some reviews I came across before I moved into the complex addressed problems that are inherent within apartment complexes today that are the fault of the original builders not the current owners. The primary problem are the floor boards allowing ease of hearing upstairs that vary from apartment to apartment. This is solely based on who lives above you and if you have a person who desires to do jumping jacks with their kids until 10 pm then you should address that problem with the leasing management. Noise violations are taken seriously as I had two people blaring their stereos in spite of each other and once the complaint was made it was documented and eventually taken care of. Now I have not had any noise issues since I made my original complaint. Since I have lived here there have been times when the fire alarm went off but each time was something different. One time an AC started to smoke, but the new owners have blitzed maintenance across the complex and we haven't had a repeat event. Another problem has been the heat transfer for the top floors, I've personally bought an AC window unit to compensate for the extreme heat but if you don't mind living beneath someone the best option for those who struggle against the heat to live on the first floor out of the sun angle for the summer. Another fire alarm was caused by some kid pulling the switch but that also was taken care of and quite frankly can happen in any apartment complex. I haven't heard any alarm that wasn't apart of a normal drill which is sent out via email way beforehand so you can put your pets outside the range of the noise, I keep my conure in the closet during that time. The staff are courteous and helpful with maintenance and the new system for maintenance requests along with other needs is responded to within a day usually but during a heavy lead never longer than three. Maintenance emergencies are handled promptly, we lost heat one night and within the hour we had plug in heaters delivered to us. The complex is well kept with improvements being the walkway in the back and lighting all around the complex.
We moved into Cosmopolitan just over a month ago and are very happy here. The entire office staff especially Kim that showed us around the first time, has been very helpful making the transition an easy one for us. Our apartment is beautiful with modern appliances and they do a great job in keeping the building updated. The location is great right at Lorton Station by the restaurants, near the highway, public transportation (including the VRE), and Costco which is convenient. The gym and running paths are accessible if you desire to stay fit. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a newer apartment complex in a beautiful neighborhood!
My wife and I love living at The Cosmopolitan at Lorton Station. We initially signed a 14 month lease last year and our lease is up for renewal. We are resigning for another 14 months because of the great staff and peaceful community. We cannot forget to mention the exemplary customer service that Kim and Ashley provide to us! They truly put the customer first. The location is also ideal for commuting to DC due to the fact that the VRE stops adjacent to the apartment complex. If you are looking for an apartment, look no further!
I really enjoy the activities here at the Cosmopolitan at Lorton Station. The staff make sure monthly activities take place every month including Bingo, Aerobics, Pool activities, Socials to meet as well as Holiday parties. I recently won baseball tickets to the Washington nationals game that was exciting. More door prizes are given away to restaurants, movies, pizza, etc.. More residents are starting to come. Talk to anyone of us. The entertainment is nice. Come see us.
This apartment community staff are very friendly and are willing to satisfy their renters with no hesitation! The building it self is currently being remodeled to upkeep its beautiful decor status.. Definitely can see the money is well spent ! Events held within this apartment community are always a joy to attend as well ! (:
