Located directly across the Arthur Kill from Staten Island, Carteret was once part of the Woodbridge Township. It became the borough of Roosevelt in 1906 and was renamed Carteret in 1922. This popular community is bordered by the Rahway River to the north, Arthur Kill to the east, and the Ernest L. Oros Wildlife Preserve to the west. Due to its central location, the borough bills itself as the "Center of it All."
Residents enjoy a fantastic location and beautiful parks. Carteret Waterfront Park has a fishing pier and access to two hiking trails: Danielle's Garden Trail and the Waterfront Fitness Trail. Shopping in Carteret is plentiful -- the brick-paved sidewalks and outdoor cafes along Washington Avenue provide historic charm and locally-owned businesses, while the shops and restaurants along Roosevelt Avenue have a more modern feel. With just 22 miles to Manhattan, 10 miles to Newark, and 70 miles to Philadelphia, residents can easily commute to nearby cities.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Botanic
The apartment complex has a package theft issue, dog poop and pee in the hallways, game rooms, everywhere. The elevators are always broken, the elevators always have dog pee in them. The carpet wasn't clean in my apartment and my cats got fleas. The apartments look nice but the amount of issues outweigh everything else. Not worth the price with all the issues.
I recently moved into the Botanic and have nothing but excellent things to say about my experience so far. The staff have been so friendly and helpful. The apartment is clean, modern and spacious. I love how much light comes through the big windows and all the amenities in this building. At this point, normally i would have a laundry list of issues with a building. However i cannot think of a single issue, and it’s impressive.

I have been a resident here for a few years now and have only had a positive experience. Everything from the location to the building amenities have been perfect. I would highly recommend The Botanic to anyone.

Hello, we are delighted to hear about your positive experience at The Botanic Apartments! Your kind words mean a lot to us! Best, The Botanic Apartments Management Team
I regret to say that The Botanic Apartments, while charging luxury rent, severely underdeliver in terms of resident care and living standards. My experience here has been so disappointing that I cannot recommend these apartments. I have firmly decided not to renew my lease. NEGATIVES Frequent Fire Alarms. The fire alarm has sounded 11 times in less than six months often blaring both in the apartments and hallways. Despite the frequency including three instances in the last WEEK with one being at 5AM managements response has been limited to an unfulfilled promise of a $25 gift card. Poor Construction Quality. The apartments build quality is subpar evident from a window in my unit that wont open due to improper measurements and sizable gaps in the tile floor that I had to fill myself. Water Damage and Mold Concerns. There have been instances of leakages and water damage from incorrectly installed air conditioning units raising concerns about mold. Garbage Management Issues. The garbage room often piles up with trash partly due to resident negligence. Shower Door Safety Hazard. The sliding shower door shattered during its first use posing a significant safety risk. While maintenance responded promptly the incident was unsettling. Inadequate Appliances. The provided washer and dryer are low-quality inefficient and noisy. Lack of Community Events. There have been only three resident events since my tenure reflecting a lack of community engagement and appreciation. Limited Amenities. The gym is disappointingly small. Promised amenities like a pet spa and rooftop grills are absent. The first three months featured a luxurious scent from essential oil scents throughout the building enhancing the high-end ambiance. However this has since been discontinued. POSITIVES Aesthetics and Staff. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a nice aesthetic touch. The front desk and maintenance staff are friendly and responsive. Neighborliness. Fellow residents are cordial contributing to a pleasant community atmosphere. Rooftop Area. Despite some unfulfilled promises the rooftop area itself is enjoyable. Conclusion In summary The Botanic Apartments charge a premium but fail to deliver on the luxury experience. The numerous negatives ranging from safety issues to unmet promises outweigh the few positives. This has been a disappointing experience not reflective of the high rent being charged.

Best, The Botanic Management Team
This isn't a luxury building and has cheap appliances, thin walls, alarm systems go off often disturbing residents... we don't even take it serious anymore. Mold in apartments ( I've seen it personally), $150 for a parking spot which is ridiculous, management never has a solution.... I'll never renew a lease with this place and so many tenants have agreed the same thing
The Botanic is so nice!! I love how spacious the apartments are! The windows offer really great views too. And the close commute to the city with the indoor bus stop is amazing! The staff have been so accommodating with our move in!
