Property Ratings at The Apartments at City Center
The management of the property by Hines has resulted in many unwanted and unwarranted changes in the residence/community. One such change is their recent decision to sack all the concierges and shut down the front desk service - one they’re obligated to maintain per our lease agreement. They are replacing this service with an Amazon Hub. Not only is this decision a breach of contract but it also creates a great security concern for the residents. With DC crime rates what they are, it was a great comfort to know that we had a trusted team of concierges to keep at eye out and make sure that unwanted visitors did not come into the building. That will no longer be the case. Overall, amenities at this complex are mediocre in comparison to the other large apartment complexes in DC. Everything feels a bit dated and worn. The front desk team and the services they provided were simple exceptional and the jewel of the community. They knew all the residents by name and apartment number. They checked on us, took care of us, and went far beyond their job descriptions to make all of us feel at home. Unfortunately, they will be replaced by robots as a cost saving measure. The management team is also still raising rent… Tenants are unhappy and likely not to renew their leases. Don’t move here.

The building is removing the front desk staff at the 875 side and the replacing them with Amazon lockers, etc. Had I known about this, I would not have renewed my lease. With this development building should at least offer the option to terminate their lease immediately.

This is a beautiful building, and if you like to be a central, mixed use business area, a great location. I have lived here since before the pandemic. However, the property management changed in mid-2022 for the worse. The new management team is less professional, less organized, and building maintenance has declined. Some units have had plumbing and flooding issues in part due to the building's design and maintenance problems. People are nice with a mix of students, professionals, and retired residents.
I have lived at the apartments at city center for exactly 12 days and have already seen mice running around my unit. Informed the leasing office who was very nice and as helpful as they could be and they sent the lead exterminator. Francesco then informed me that there was nothing he could do and would only be able to lay mice traps down until pest control comes which isn't until next Thursday 3/24/24. It is the next day and no one has laid any traps down I had to go out and get some myself and lay them down. I am scared to sleep at night I missed two days of work and haven't slept in the unit. I've reached out to management who still has not gotten back to me and seems to be too busy. If planning to move here, move at your own risk! Nice building nice people but you might be sleeping with mice.
Bridgette has become a part of our every day existence here, and I would miss her terribly if I didn’t get to say hi to her as I leave for work. She’s lovely and incredibly sweet. Tony is invaluable and I adore him. He’s friendly, calm and always helpful. He was wonderful to us during our Covid absence. THank you Buzzoto for having such wonderful staff.

The microwave in our apartment stopped working. We put in a request for it to be fixed, which was a very easy process. The maintenance crew responded immediately, and the microwave was fixed within an hour. It was an extremely efficient procedure, and the work work was excellent. Thanks so much to the staff at the Apartments at City Center for the great service!

Caleb at The Apartments at CityCenter is nothing short of wonderful. He provided me and my family a first class experience when touring the building. It was like talking to an old friend we had known for years. He went above and beyond to secure the unit that we wanted. From our first initial phone conversation through the application process Caleb was nothing short of outstanding. A true southern gentleman. I can not wait to move to the building next month and knowing that there will be a familiar face to greet me when I arrive is extremely comforting. I love living in this building! It is an absolute dream and a great place to call home. The units are open, have tons of storage, beautiful windows, and nice finishes. The gym is a great size and has everything you would need for everyday use. The roof is absolutely beautiful, but I also love that there are other common spaces to enjoy on various levels. It really feels like a community, especially with all the nice spaces and friendly staff. Special thank you to Tisa, who is always extremely helpful and welcoming -- she takes extra special care to make sure that we are all happy and have what we need. The individualized attention and care from folks on the staff like Tisa is the cherry on top of the overall experience of calling this place home!

My husband and I actually lived here on two different occasions, and only moved away each time because of bigger things. The building is clean, kind, and beautiful. The people who work there are SO responsive and friendly (shoutout to Tisa, who got to know us, our dog, and really took care of us when the pandemic hit). If the universe would bring us back to DC for whatever reason, there’s a solid chance we’d land at CityCenter again. 10 out of 5 stars (yes, you read that right)

I'm a former resident and Tisa reached out to me to see if I would consider writing a review of my time living there. I'm thrilled to do it, because I believe it's the best full-service rental building in DC. My favorite things about it: 1. The management and front desk staff (including Tisa!) were the best I've experienced in a full-service building. Friendly, quick to learn residents' names, and always happy to go above and beyond to help. 2. Immaculately maintained lobby and common areas 3. The neighborhood restaurants, shopping, and convenient central location. 4. The great friends I made living there I highly recommend this building, and it would be at the top of my list if I decide to move back to DC.

Came to look at some potential apartments on Monday, the 29th. The apartments here look so beautiful and I love all the natural lighting and it’s super quiet. I’ve been a resident at the Apartments at CityCenter for almost 3 year, and it has easily been my favorite place to live in DC. The location is within blocks of all metro lines, tons of restaurants, cafes (Piccolina!), and stores. The building, amenities, and apartments are beautiful. But more importantly, the staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. The Apartments at City Center is centrally located in the heart of DC providing easy access to essentially anything you need. The building is great and the staff really set the building apart from others. Especially Tisa Holloway, the Director of Resident Services. I’ve been living at City Center DC for a few years now and Tisa is the best! Especially this past year during the pandemic. She is always happy to help when needed and she really goes above and beyond in her service. I have lived at City Center for over a year, and it has been everything I imagined and more! The amenities are state of the art, and the location is close to metro lines, shopping, museums, and a ton of restaurants. Everyone who works here is so friendly and professional! The maintenance staff is fantastic--I have only had two issues, but they have been resolved in 30 minutes! Tisa is so helpful, friendly, and goes out of her way to make City Center feel like home. I highly recommend City Center to anyone!

Tisa is probably the highlight of living here! She graciously brings all of our packages to our doorstep in a very timely manner and sometimes multiple times a day! Never in any other apartment that you get such service, 5 stars all the way for her!

I looked at a lot of apartment buildings before choosing CCDC, and CCDC is definitely the nicest in downtown DC. The location, amenities, and modern finishes speak for themselves, but another factor that makes living here really comfortable is the building management. The building staff are super friendly--especially Tisa and her team at the front desk. In short, I highly recommend renting at CCDC.

The beauty of the apartments at CityCenter, but the concierge service that is given by the lovely Tisa is what makes you stay. She has gone out of her way to remember my name, give a friendly hello whenever she sees me, always offers me assistance, and even drops mail off out at my door!! We've lived here for three years and just renewed for our fourth. Apart from the fact that the convenient location can't be beat, the team that runs this building has truly mastered customer service. From the moment you walk in, Tisa - the Director of Resident Services - and her team make you feel welcome and at home. I’ve been at city center for almost a year now and I must say all the staff I’ve met are truly excellent. I’m sad that my leasing agent Nick has gone as I worked with him moving in to the property and moving units within the property. Although Nick has gone my go to guy is Jessie in the leasing office. As far as concierge my girl Tisa is A1. She’s goes above for everyone and she literally knows everyone by name. I love her and I’m so happy she’s been my main concierge on each side of the building.

I love staying here so much. Outside of it being such a great location, the staffing here is great. I have never had an issue with anyone. It's located on the best spot of the city, easy access to all metro lines and buses, few minutes walking to museums & parks, surrounded by many restaurants, bars and shopping. The apartments are new, and the maintenance team are very efficient if you have any emergency. The only downsize there is no good grocery store around the area. I wish Trader Joe's, Whole Foods or similar one could come to the area. Moreover, the staffs are very friendly and helpful, they really work hard to create the best environment place to live. I give my special thank you and compliments to Ms. TISSA, she goes beyond her duties to help everyone and no matter how tired she is she's always smiling and giving her amazing energy, making my experience of living at City Center the best.

I love living at CityCenter. The building is beautifully managed by Bozzuto and you really can’t beat the amenities. The concierge is truly first class (Tess always goes above and beyond) and you truly feel welcomed living here. I literally have Tess in speed dial for emergencies...how many building can provide this kind of service? The location can’t be beat plus the gym is like having membership at a private club. If you’re looking to live in D.C, look no further.

Simply the best place to live in DC. Rooftop, gym, a swimming pool, a very nice shopping area. I am a very demanding customer and this place just surpassed my expectations. Shoutout to a concierge Tisa for making me feel home from the day one after my transition from Europe to DC. I highly recommend this place.

I’ve lived at the Apartments at CityCenter for about a year and a half now, and I can say that I’ve loved every moment of it. The concierge team is amazing and makes CityCenter truly feel like home. Tisa and her team are genuinely the nicest, most helpful and welcoming people you’ll ever meet. They always go above and beyond and they’ve been an amazing support through these COVID times. They also put on a host of seasonal and surprise events for residents that really builds a sense of community and puts a smile on my face. Location is as convenient as it’ll get, basically being right across the street from the Metro Center station, making it super easy to get to work in non-quarantimes. Also just blocks away from a host of amazing downtown DC restaurants, Chinatown, National Portrait Gallery, and of course, shopping. I sometimes joke that I live at the intersection of Tiffany’s and Gucci. The apartments themselves are impeccably well maintained and have been a pleasure to live in. At the start of quarantimes, I moved from a junior one bedroom up to a one bedroom and it was a seamless process—both apartments have just been a joy to spend time in. Service requests are rare in my experience, but are addressed speedily—I submitted a request about one auxiliary light that went out and it was replaced in 15 minutes. I would highly recommend the Apartments at CityCenter to anyone looking to live in DC, and have actually sung praises about living here to all of my friends. It is the perfect combination of best-in-class staff, convenience, and luxury living.

I lived in the Apartments at City Center for 14 months and I can honestly say it was the best and most luxurious building I’ve ever lived in. Not only does it have a convenient dog park, it’s located near all the best stores. There’s so many places to eat and you’re only steps away from the White House. The management and Tony, at the front desk, always took care of my requests and needs. If you’re looking for somewhere to live... I promise this is the best apartment in DC!

The Apartments at City Center has been an amazing building to live at. I have been there since they have opened and have nothing but good things to say about Buzzuto (I have been with them the last 5 years) the building has great access to all metro lines and a great community building up around it.
CityCenter is a very modern style apartment building in the newly redeveloped City Center of Washington DC that opened in December 2014. We moved here after living in a large Georgetown home for nearly 20 years. If you choose to live here, you have many choices for entertainment and restaurants with multiple restaurant options and cuisine on the premises of City Center and the surrounding blocks. An Italian restaurant and grocery market also recently opened and pre-made dinners are available to go at the market! There's parking here, but you really don't need a car as ZipCar is in the garage, and Uber cars are available 24/7. (I ditched my car two years ago and haven't needed a car living here.) Appliances and finishes of the apartments are superior, as are the floor to ceiling windows and the beautiful views. The building management hosts parties regularly, and also arranges for fitness instructors to hold classes in the building's two story gym. Finally, there are security officers on the premises 24/7 partly because of the high-end retail shops at CityCenter (Burberry, Hugo Boss, Loro Piano, Carolina Herrera, Salvatore Ferragamo, etc.), making this downtown area extremely safe. My family and I have been extremely happy living here.
