The Elkridge Hanover neighborhood consists of two unincorporated communities, Elkridge and Hanover. Elkridge is one of the oldest settlements in Howard County, dating back to 1734. This beautiful community features several historic sites, including Troy, which dates back to 1694, when John Dorsey moved to the property. My biggest disappointments are significant rental increases with no upgrades to the property. Hallways are completely neglected and the trash area is a hot mess. Now we have to pay to have a guest pool pass.
I like that the apartments you have to drive in and give a community vibes. Landscape is well kept and adequate parking. Adequate space, could have more storage.
The living experience was good. I was here for almost 5 years. The rent is expensive to the amenities they provide. Wish they could put the grill back near the leasing office

Community is quiet mostly. Valet trash isn’t very timely about coming to pick up trash and sometimes the bags fall off their truck and they leave them thus making the community look dirty. The gym always has the code changed because people let non residents in and the equipment is broken for long periods of time without being fixed. Maintenance is good about taking care of things that need to be fixed..

Generally nice area to be. I have been lucky in not having issues with the neighbors. The ability to put work orders in through an app is convenient, but the team and office people aren’t always the best communicators. If you are not there speaking to them you won’t know what went wrong or what was fixed. Office has gotten better about messages to the community.

Living here is ok. The community is quiet and nice but upon move in there was so much wrong with my place and it took over a month for someone to come and fix things.

No cameras or security patrolling, no parking passes residents who live here can't find parking because non residents are using the parking spaces.

My apartment is nice and we have decent parking. There are nice amenities workout room, tennis courts, club house, and an outside pool. The only issues I have is that when I have to put in a work ticket sometimes the app doesnt work and it crashes and that goes as well with paying the rent. Which has Caused late fees. Unfortunately!

Overall very nice neighbors and the development is generally quiet. Having your trash picked up at your door is convenient. The landscaping is done on a very frequent schedule.

Very nice community. I would just wish my upstairs neighbor was not quite so noisy. Somedays it sounds like he is moving furniture. There are days when it sounds Nike the ceiling is going to come crashing down.

I moved in on 4/19/25 and so far I love this place. It's very peaceful here. I used to live in anne arundel county and it's a night and day difference. My son loves the school next door aswell.

Neighbours smoke all the time at downstairs leaving bad smell inside the house, theft, no safety for cars at parking lots. Using of amendments are limited.

There is no security in the parking lots, all the time they are stealing and breaking glass and the administration does absolutely nothing about it.

Two weeks ago, there was water leak and it went all over my bedroom. I called the emergency call number and they came after couple hours by then my personnel items was wet and damage. I asked to replace carpet, they didn't and they use my power to dry out which cause my electricity bill went up.

Smooth onboarding experience. Spotted few bugs and mice roaming inside but pest control service is good. Close to costco and other shops in walkable distance.

I moved to this complex in July 2023. I am very pleased with my choice. It is a very nice community. The property is well kept, the people are nice who live here. The staff in the office are great. They are so nice and personable. They make you feel like part of the community. I love the events they run every month. The maintenance crew are bet efficient and any repair jobs are mostly handled in 24-48 hours.

Very nice area to live in just a few small tweaks here and there and it would be more than perfect for a beautiful family to live in! Has everything from a gym, pool, playground and even a tennis court!!

Maintenance team is great, apartment for cost is fine. Increase in car break-ins, reported thefts, and sketchy activity is quickly hurting how I feel about living here.

I truly enjoy my experience staying at this location. Everyone so friendly. The gym is always clean. The pool is always fun. I haven’t had any problems with safety.

We’ve been living in this community for 3 years now. It has been a wonderful experience. The staffs are super friendly. The community is peaceful and family friendly. Parks, Gym, Pool, School, Shopping centers, Volleyball court, Organic produces, etc. you name it; everything is around you in 5-10 min Walking distance.

Great place to live! Signing a lease was a smooth process. Maintenance is always very responsive. Neighborhood is quiet and close location to a park, Costco and Trader Joe's.

My Car was broken into and there are no cameras in the entire complex. My first floor unit leaks water from under the vynil floor boards. Apparently no fix for it

Great place to live. It’s quiet, office staff are great. I have met a lot of nice neighbors. Maintenance is fast to fix something if requested.

I love living here. This is my third year. Although I do feel like they can do some improvements like resurfacing the parking lot and repainting the parking lines. It would give it a nice refreshing look. Putting that aside, I do appreciate how they keep the grounds, clean and manicured.

My resident experience is great. It was a huge adjustment to come from 40 yrs of homeownership to Apartment life; however, I am comfortable residing here.
Sherwood has been extremely beautiful and the customer service has been amazing! Any time I call they are alway willing to help and the when Im sick they check in on me.
I love the peace and quiet I get when I come home from a long day at work. On the weekend and some days during the week I take time out of my day to take walks through the neighborhood to get a feel of the community I live in.
I love living here. The community is mostly clean, quiet, pet friendly and the neighbors are very nice. Also, love the food trucks that come by.

I am enjoying my apartment. Residents and visitors speed and run stop signs is my only concern. Parking is a problem with all of the ice that has built up in the parking spaces.

My unit was not ready on time on the day of move-in. Workers were still working in the apartment while I moved in. They failed to notice water damage from the apartment above present on move-in. The sliding glass door is permanently fogged from moisture in between the panes. The dishwasher and garbage disposal work intermittently due to a plug they didn’t properly secure into a receptacle. My unit flooded a second time when they hired power washers to wash the common hallways and they flooded the common hallway, my unit, and the unit above me. Maintenance was so unhelpful that I gave up on even trying to get them to fix anything. Now, just over a year into my 13 month lease, I’ve once again come home to pools of water on my floors thanks to the folks above me. Couple that with a master bath where the hot water only lasts for 5 minutes max and slow/poor snow/ice removal from sidewalks and voila - you’ve got a pretty terrible experience for more money than you should pay for this sort of experience. Do yourself a favor and spend a couple extra bucks and avoid this community.

Pleasant neighbors. Unfortunately stop signs and speed limits are not respected. People drive much too fast and run stop signs.

Apartments are spacious and in good condition. Maintenance requests takes time and that can be reduced except it everything looks good for now.

Quiet community. Feel very safe and enjoy the diversity of the community. Maintenance is extremely quick at responding to service requests. The gym facilities and the pool is are clean and great amenities offered.

We have been calling Sherwood crossing for a few years now and we absolutely love it. Great location convenient to shopping and work. The staff is great. Big shout out to Susana and Chris from maintenance always goes out of their way to ensure residents are satisfied.

Property is well maintained. Maintenance is great, usually an issue is fixed within 24-48 hours. Office staff are personable and professional. They run nice events.

Nice apartment community but apartment itself has a lot of maintenance issues and problems! Overall the apartment are old and some of the cabinets are wearing down. I’ve only been in this unit since Dec 26 2024 and have put in close to ten maintenance requests! Not ideal for my first experience with this community

This is the only neighborhood that I can personally say is the most welcoming/ inviting. The staff are amazing and very warm as in friendly with everyone and they do listen when you have a concern or complaint. I recommend to anyone who is looking to move, Sherwood Crossing is a great place whether you're single or you're moving in as a family the community here is great place to raise a family or relax on your own.
