The Elkridge Hanover neighborhood consists of two unincorporated communities, Elkridge and Hanover. Elkridge is one of the oldest settlements in Howard County, dating back to 1734. This beautiful community features several historic sites, including Troy, which dates back to 1694, when John Dorsey moved to the property. Apartments in Elkridge Hanover provide easy access to parks along the Patapsco River, several golf courses, the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and Downtown Baltimore, which is roughly 10 miles northeast. Arundel Mills provides a wide variety of shops and restaurants as well as entertainment venues such as Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, a Cinemark movie theater, Dave & Buster’s, and the casino.

Neighboring Hanover is a popular shopping destination, home to the Arundel Mills shopping mall and several shopping centers. It is also a popular nightlife destination, home to Maryland Live! Casino. The Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport borders Hanover along its east side.
