Yes, it's called Capitol Hill -- but it isn't the capitol and there's no capitol building. So how did this Seattle neighborhood get its name? Back around 1900, a real estate developer renamed the burgeoning community from "Broadway Hill" to "Capitol Hill" because he wanted the capitol to be moved from Olympia to Seattle. That never happened, and the quirky neighborhood kept its new quirky name. Capitol Hill is the neighborhood for those who love nightlife. As Seattle's premier place to party, Capitol Hill is home to coffee houses, taverns, bars, nightclubs, and theaters.
Home to artists and musicians, Capitol Hill features a variety of festivals and events throughout the year, and it is home to the Capitol Hill Arts District. College students also find their way to the Hill, which is home to Seattle Central College and is just south of the University of Washington.

Property Ratings at Roundcliffe Apartments
We love love this charming building, our huge apartment, and the onsite property manager. She has been nothing but helpful and efficient, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. We feel very lucky to be part of the Roundcliffe community!
Be careful renting here. I felt relieved to read the other messages below agreeing that the onsite manager is horrible and that I wasn't the only one who felt this way. Having to interact with her felt toxic and someone in the building coined interacting with her as experiencing, "the wrath of [her name]" which seemed appropriate. Some repair requests went over a year without being fixed and one thing will be said and the opposite done.
Let me start this off by saying that the building is beautiful, the apartments are a great size and the views are stunning.... all of that is not enough to off-set the horrible property manager who lives on site. She is rude, aggressive and unhelpful to everyone in the building. She is abrasive, defensive and condescending when spoken to. It's a shame how lovely this building is and how the property manager is so awful. I have heard the same complaints and concerns from other tenants in the building and its disappointing that nothing has been done to fix it. When moving in to this building, we intended to call it home for several years, but unfortunately, dealing with the property manager is not worth staying. New tenants beware.
I lived in this building for a couple years and absolutely loved the space and view, but the on site manager should not be in the business of customer service, especially when it involves people's living spaces, in my opinion. Sadly, I heard from neighbors that I wasn't the only one who had felt this way. The units are beautiful with lots of charm but maintenance requests felt like battles and when I had reported uncomfortable interactions to higher managers I felt retaliated against by the on site manager.
I'm anxiously waiting for the next vacancy. I lived here for 2 years and moved to a different city but want to move back. The manager is incredible. She's very attentive, always helpful, and super respectful. A couple of us wanted to do gardening and she went out of her way to organize a gardening system for all of us, setting it up and everything! I can't say enough to describe the experience living at the Roundcliffe, and having her as a manager. Thank you!
Netra, the onsite property manager is HORRIBLE! She has completely no respect for the tenants that live in the building or the complex itself. She's lived there for 10 years and does nothing to contribute to the building. Issues are taken care of VERY slowly, if ever. Her correspondence is rude and unprofessional. It is very clear she lives in the building as a manager for the discounted rent and the ability to work from home. It's truly unfortunate that the tenants must suffer at her cost. The building itself is beautiful, but it is not worth the verbally abusive and condescending manager you'll have to deal with. If I could give this less than 1 star I would. It's incredibility saddening that the property management company will not listen to complaints by tenants and put their renter's first. This building would be a perfect place to call home if it wasn't for the horrible management.
I'm obsessed with my apartment. I'm rating it good instead of excellent because I really wish I had a dishwasher, but all the other factors more than make up for it. Hardwood floors, lots of light, a view of the Space Needle, and 1920s charm. As a girl with way more clothing and shoes than I care to admit, the walk-in closet, built-in dresser, and two closets in the bedroom are a life-saver. The building is a quick walk to Broadway, but it's off the beaten path enough that the area is quaint and quiet. There's also a small market a half-block away, in case you don't feel like going all the way to QFC to pick up some wine, snacks, or that ingredient you forgot to get at the grocery store. Unfortunately, the rents have increased quite a bit since I moved in, so I don't know how much longer I'll be able to stay. I'll be really sad if and when I leave.
