Property Ratings at Parkland at West Oaks

Property Manager at Parkland at West Oaks, Responded To This Review
We really appreciate the five-star rating of Parkland at West Oaks, Nelson. Resident feedback is very important to us and we appreciate your positive review. It means so much that you enjoy everything we have to offer, from our excellent customer service to the beautiful amenities and everything in between.
I've lived at Parkland at West Oaks for just under two years, and I've been very pleased with my stay. THE FRONT OFFICE: Property Management changed sometime within the past year or so, but I've seen nothing but upgrades for the community. The front office is polite, easy to reach, and very patient. I still remember how accommodating Ms. Wynisha was when I first visited the property with a million questions. The front office also hosts many events, giveaways, and has a food truck come by once a month. Great people! THE PROPERTY: I lived in a 2 bed, 2 bath unit with upgraded appliances (which I think now come in all units), and its been great. They're very spacious and well-built. I haven't seen a single apartment offer this much space for such a fair price. THE PARKING: Parking is normally fine for residents, but the visitor's section is quite small and gets filled up frequently. All the visitor spots are located in one corner of the complex, so it is inconvenient to have to drive across the complex to pick up my guests when they arrive. My biggest complaint about the parking is about 50% of the visitor's area is always filled with the same cars. I wish management would be a little more strict about their guest parking policy because it seems some of those "visitors" are just unlisted residents. THE NEIGHBORS: The only thing keeping me from giving a perfect 5-star review has got to be the neighbors. Parkland is very strict about their rules concerning garbage, but many of my neighbors didn't abide by them. They constantly left multiple bags of trash in our hallways, and I've even had neighbors dump their trash in my trash-valet-bin. This normally wouldn't be a problem for me, but they'll do so with torn/untied bags filled with spoiled food. Furthermore, people constantly pile garbage bags beside the dumpsters because they're too lazy to lift the lid and put their bags inside. My other complaint about the neighbors is their noise. I'm on the third floor, but the walls are VERY thin and you can hear everything from outside. SUMMARY: In short, I've been absolutely impressed with Parkland at West Oaks, their staff, the property, and its affordability. I may have ranted a bit, but I can guarantee you this Apartment Complex is among the best in the area. The pros greatly outweigh the cons. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a large, affordable, and up-to-date apartment managed by a great staff!
I ended up leasing at this property after touring it 3 times. Each time I can’t to visit there were new upgrades being done, and timely like the gym, exterior buildings getting painted, new office, new WiFi coffee area and business center. That sold the deal for me, and though I lived here for a short time the office team has been helpful and maintenance was super fast fixing my few items I found when moving in. Just the first month we had food truck, free pizza night, and nacho bar! I love it and the location is still in the energy corridor close to my work.
RUN FOR YOUR DEAR LIFE. I LIVED IN THIS APT FOR A YEAR AND HAD TO MOVE DUE TO LACK OF PARKING SPACE.I WAS MADE TO PAY 1200 DOLLAR DEPOSIT .WAS TOLD THAT MY REFUND WOULD BE 1100 DOLLARS .ITS ALMOST 4 MONTHS AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND.YES THE APT IS SPACIOUS BUT WHATS SPACE WITHOUT PLAN.PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS APT COS YOU WILL REGRET IT.BE WARNED.
Great space and even layout. What you see on the pictures is sincerely not far from what you will see. But let this not deceive you. Like the previous comment, my husband and I moved in and the apartment was not ready. Rough infested. I have pictures and videos. It took them almost two weeks to start treating it. Worst is were not refunded (rent) during that period even though we had not actively moved in. The robberie's and break in's are soo real. If you need repairs done at your apartment, it takes weeks of you constantly bombarding the office to get it done. What annoys me the most is their customer service. Everyone in that office but for Shaye has very poor communicating skills. I think at some point, they forget your are paying for the space and services. If i had my way, i will be out the day after i picked up my keys but now i am bounded by the lease. So my advice to you is, RUN while you still can.
Yes they might have a great deal for the size of the apartment and for the area, but DO NOT move in here. You don't get your moneys worth out of this place. Yes it might look nice once in a while on the outside, but really most days, it's super trashy. Shaye is the only great thing about the office.... My husband and I had issues the moment we started moving in. The apartment wasn't move in ready, the maintenance guys were upset because they had to re-do our apartment, the office didn't want to believe us about it, thankfully we had pictures and they made the maintenance guys go back through and correct things. But their way of fixing things is by spray painting over marks or damage, painting over black mold and spray painting the inside of cabinets to cover up stuff, and using some kind of soap to wash the windows instead of windex... Not to mention the roach infestation in the apartment when we moved in that the complex management just told us what we could to to help with it....we just moved in, how is it our problem??? And since then, this place has been super unsafe and trashy. We have seen drug deals go down in front of our windows, smell people smoking marijuana, had our neighbors apartments broken into without management letting the whole complex know about it, and the cherry on top, March 18, 2016, this morning there were over 20 cars broken into with smashed windows, and a couple cars stolen. Check it out on FOX26 news... NOT worth your time, money, or loss of sleep to live here. GO somewhere else.
Our apartments are simply the best in the area! We have large, spacious interiors, with oversized floor plans, high ceilings and extra closets. Windows span the entire main wall allowing for plenty of natural light and great views. The units have been recently updated with beautiful appliances, countertops and new flooring. The buildings are spaced apart allowing for above average green spaces, beautiful trees and shrubs. Our pet friendly complex is conveniently located close to a mall, a major movie theater, and several popular restaurants with easy access to major highways and metro bus routes. The friendly staff are on hand to assist the residents with any concern they may have. I have lived here for several years now and I look forward to remaining here for several more years to come. Please come and visit Parkland at Westhollow Apartments!
These apartments are pretty good. My husband and I have been here about 4 or 5 months so far. The grass grows like wildfire but they keep it beautiful, green, and trimmed. They are pet friendly and the fees are reasonable compared to that of other apartments. When I had to have maintenance come look at our thermostat (completely my fault, haha) I was able to submit the request online and they responded quickly. Office staff is pretty friendly. I only have 3 minor complaints; the parking can get pretty bad but I've never had to park far enough away to want to pay the $35/month for reserved parking. The next thing is although the apartments themselves are huge, storage (outside of the beautiful kitchen) is a joke! You must have immaculate organization skills to optimize the space provided. Lastly, the longest lease they offer is 12 months, which I thought was kind of strange. Overall, the apartments are beautiful, the pros outweigh the cons, and I'd definitely recommend these apartments.
First off, the apartments here are newly remodeled, and *huge*. That means clean, modern, nice spacious apartments. And for the price they ask, it's a great deal (I have a 1Br that's $945 for 1003 sqft). When I visited, I thought the property manager was pretty funny because she kept saying "We don't need to talk our apartments up. They sell themselves. What you see, is what you get." She was right; I saw about 8 properties in the area that day, and none of them even came close. And not only is the square footage sizeable, the layout is absolutely wonderful. You have a very distinctive living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, and restroom with two entrances! Also a great walk in closet and a huge laundry room. Moving on from the apartment itself. Property management here is pretty good. They are always super busy (from what I've seen so far), and it can be very difficult to actually get a hold of them by phone or email, but they are the nicest people and very very helpful. There's no swimming pool or fitness center, but I'm not a huge fan of the dinky apartment fitness centers in the first place. Parking is free, with a permit and without assigned spaces (ironically I've already had a rental car towed from here because my temporary permit accidentally fell of the dash, so be wary of that). Seriously guys, this place is great. You're not going to be able to find anything that even comes close to this in the price range that it sits at. If you're working in the area, I'd definitely recommend a visit to this place.
Ive been a resident for a little over 7 months, and i am by far pleased with my apartment. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very attentive with my concerns. Having a child you always worry about safety when moving into a new place. One of the first things i noticed was the patrol car which put me at ease, knowing the complex has someone patrolling and making sure it remains calm is a plus. Ive had no issues and so far its a very pleasant complex. I am absolutely satisfied with my decision to live here.
I've read the previous reviews about some residents not liking the apartment complex but I honestly have never had an issue with anything here or the management! Every time I need something they are there to help me. Jenn the leasing agent is so sweet! She always has such a positive attitude regardless of how residents act at times. I've been in the office getting some mail once when a lady was rudely talking to her over something she had no control over and Jenn handled it in such a professional manner when most people probably wouldn't. Overall I love it here and I don't have any sort of complaints and I've been currently living here for a little over a year.
I don't really write reviews but when I saw the bad ones about my apartments I thought, okay let me do one for this. I've lived here for a little over a year. I've been here since before the new management took over. I hated the last management because the office people were so rude and I don't think they ever put in my maintenance problems because sometimes they wouldn't even show up. With this new management that took over, I haven't had a problem. I put in my maintenance requests and they show up to fix my problem. When I go into the office, the managers are friendly, hold a conversation with me and the girl that sits at the front is helpful. I can honestly say I love my apartments and will definitely renew my lease when it's time. I feel like people only usually write reviews when they're mad. I've had great experiences with the new management. Oh and the apartment is huge which is pretty rare. Everywhere else that I looked for an apartment before choosing this one, were like boxes and I wouldn't pay rent for that.
This place is horrible , the new manager is careless. I've been living here for almost 5 years & the previous owner was great. Think twice before coming here.
