Located in Downtown Seattle, First Hill is the city’s first neighborhood. The historic neighborhood is also known as “Pill Hill” for its abundance of medical and research institutions, such as Swedish Hospital and Virginia Mason Medical Center. First Hill is also home to Seattle University and the famed Frye Art Museum. Defined by steep hills, First Hills juxtaposes the old and new with historic brick apartment buildings, modern high-rise apartments, and charming houses. First Hill is extremely walkable and there are a variety of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood for residents to enjoy. Living in First Hill also places resident minutes from some of the city’s most popular hotspots like Capitol Hill, the International District, and Lower Queen Anne, home of the iconic Space Needle. First Hill has several rail stations and Interstate 5 runs on the western edge of the neighborhood making traveling through downtown easy.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Monticello Apartments
Make sure you tour the apartment and thoroughly inspect it first before signing anything. Place is smaller than what they post about. Mold problem all the time since the bathroom doesn’t have proper ventilation. There will be leaks from the outside when it rains even though all windows are closed. Management will try to “fix it” and come into the apartment for MULTIPLE DAYS ON END and not finish the job. Crackheads yelling in the middle of the night, needles surrounding the complex. So many wrong things with this place I could possibly write a book about all of them. Trust me, you can do better than here.
They will enter your apartment multiple times per year to do inspections and will have no concern about your schedule at all. They are rude and lie. Packages get stolen constantly. The neighborhood is dangerous. The apartments are infested with roaches and management will do nothing about it. This place should be condemned.
Monticello is great! Small apartments with functional layouts and a great on-site team! Trevor, Chris, Eddye, Kevin, and Sue (when she was still there before her promotion), are so willing to ensure you have what you need to make your stay enjoyable. Service requests are complete within 48 hours max, usually within 24, and when you can’t make it to the office to pick up a package before they close, you can ask them to put it inside of your apartment and they do! Great service!
This is our first apartment when we move to Seattle and we were so excited about this place for the first few months we were there I have no complain about our stay till the new management came in. It went down hill for the last 3 months we have left, they keep switching people. I don't mind the noise cause it wasn't that bad at all especially that its close to downtown and the nightlife. Everything is accessible here but was just surprise how they treated us. They increased our rent for another $200 for a 360sq ft home if we decided to stay for 1 more year and that's the first reason why we didn't wanna stay there. Not a safe place to leave stuff either cause our item was stolen inside our apartment not just us but our friend living at the 3rd floor lost two item that he owned which really sucks. I know that's what insurance are for but just knowing you are not safe leaving the house is terrible feeling. And a week after we left we receive a mail that we still owe them money and used all our security deposit. We didn't leave the apartment like a mess. The carpet was fine it just need to be vacuum and we got charge for HEAVY DEEP CLEANING. That just doesn't make sense for a small apartment. Overall we left the place feeling like we got robbed for something unreasonable.
Great location close to buss stops and down town. Affordable nicely sized 1 bedrooms, quiet neighborhood, friendly and helpful management. Wonderful place to live.
Me my wife and 6 yr old currently stay in a 1 bedroom we share alot of bonding but theres no room to have to breathe
