Be sure to visit Four Point Channel -- this is where the Boston Tea Party occurred in 1773. Downtown Boston is a short three miles north, adding to the appeal of City Point. Another draw is the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade -- a celebration of not only St. Patrick's Day, but also of the Evacuation. During the American Revolution, cannons were set up in Dorchester Heights. The password to cross the continental lines was "St. Patrick." That day, George Washington and the Continental army forced the British to evacuate Boston. On their days off, locals like to spend time on the beaches of Pleasure Bay, Marine Park, and Castle Island Park, the latter of which features a number of walking trails for leisure and fitness. East Broadway, which runs through the middle of the neighborhood, hosts a range of eateries. Lazy afternoons find locals sipping coffee at the Cafe Arpeggio or enjoying hamburgers at Tasty Burger.
