Adjacent to Santa Monica on the west side of Los Angeles, Mar Vista provides excellent access to Pacific Coast beaches, Downtown LA, Santa Monica College the University of California Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California. It is also close to the mountains, Will Rogers State Historic Park, and Topanga State Park. LAX is a few minutes south of Mar Vista. A couple of blocks to the east, residents can enjoy Venice Beach, Muscle Beach, the Venice Beach Boardwalk, and Marina Del Rey.
With its scenic views, beautiful homes along hilly streets, and proximity to everything LA has to offer, Mar Vista is one of the area’s most sought-after neighborhoods. It is densely populated, diverse, and – like much of LA -- expensive. The Mar Vista Recreation Center provides residents with basketball courts, a playground, a gym, a roller hockey rink, a swimming pool, and a tennis court. Venice Boulevard runs through Mar Vista and is lined with shops, restaurants, and other businesses. To get around without a car, Mar Vista offers a bike-sharing program and LAnow, a shuttle service reserved through an app.
