Lakeside is a suburb 15 minutes north of Richmond. Although some may think Lakeside is home to a dazzling body of water, this small town is actually dominated by lush parks. These huge green spaces are found on the north, south, and east parts of town. Bryan and Belmont Park offer excellent sports facilities, but the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is the star in Lakeside. These elegant gardens feature a classic domed conservatory with vibrant roses, cherry trees, ponds, and shaded trails.
There are events held here throughout out the year. Lakeside is also known for its twice-weekly farmers market hosted along Lakeside Avenue. This road is also where the majority of the businesses are located. On Lakeside Avenue, you’ll find eclectic shops, a brewery, and the best restaurants for casual eats. Lakeside offers a great location, attracting a variety of residents, especially students, young professionals, and city lovers.
