Located between the Everglades and the Atlantic Coast beaches, Cooper City is a South Florida city with everything you'd expect from paradise: palm trees, pretty homes perched along canals, backyard swimming pools, boats, coastal breezes, and endless sunshine. Cooper City is ideally located, about 11 miles southwest of Fort Lauderdale, about eight miles northwest of Hollywood, and about 24 miles northwest of Miami. Cooper City was named one of Family Circle Magazine's top 10 towns for families, with the excellent schools (some of Florida's top ranked) and its parks -- 21 of them. The park system includes two sports complexes: the Bill Lips Sports Complex, which contains ball fields, a playground, and a concession stand, and the Cooper City Sports Complex, which has ball fields, lighted basketball courts, a playground, a picnic area, roller hockey rinks, and a concession area. The Cooper City Pool and Tennis Center features lighted beach volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts as well as a swimming pool, a playground, a fitness room, and a covered pavilion.
