Piedmont Park’s picturesque residential neighbor

Parks Outdoors Entertainment Urban Nightlife

Ansley Park covers about 275 tree-lined acres just east of Midtown Atlanta, with Piedmont Park along its eastern edge and Peachtree Street running along its western border. The streets here curve and wind through the neighborhood in a way you won't find in much of Atlanta, lined with mature trees, brick sidewalks, and well-kept lawns. Coffee shops and restaurants in Midtown are within easy reach, and the BeltLine's Eastside Trail runs close enough to make car-free errands a realistic option. Georgia Tech sits about two miles to the southwest. The Atlanta Dogwood Festival, held each spring in nearby Piedmont Park, draws crowds from across the city every year. Rental options in Ansley Park tend toward single-family homes and townhomes, though a handful of mid-rise apartment communities and garden-style rentals are available for those looking for something smaller.

Ansley park is beautiful. Traffic can be heavy at times with all of the people cutting through. A lot of construction on Peachtree Circle and the 15th street areas. some areas need updating. Lots of hidden parks. Great walking area. Near to restaurants and museum.

History

-

Ansley Park was developed starting around 1905 and stands today as one of Atlanta's most intact early 20th-century residential neighborhoods. The street layout was intentionally designed to follow the natural contour of the land rather than a standard city grid, which gives the area its distinct, park-like feel. Architectural styles range from Queen Anne and Colonial Revival to Craftsman bungalows, and walking the streets feels like flipping through a catalog of early American residential design. The neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a designated historic district, which has helped preserve the character of its homes and streetscapes. The Ansley Golf Club has been part of the community since the area was first built out and remains an active presence today.

Restaurants

-

Ansley Park's location between Midtown and Buckhead means you're never far from a good meal. The Midtown corridor along Peachtree Street offers everything from wood-fired Italian and farm-to-table Southern cooking to Japanese ramen and Korean barbecue. Brunch spots, wine bars, and neighborhood cafes fill the gaps throughout the week. Because the neighborhood itself is primarily residential, most dining happens a short walk or drive away in Midtown, where the restaurant scene ranges from long-standing Atlanta institutions to newer spots drawing attention from food writers and locals alike.

Transportation

-

Ansley Park has a walk score of 70, meaning most daily errands are manageable on foot. The neighborhood is also rated moderately bikeable, and the Atlanta BeltLine's Eastside Trail runs along its eastern edge, making it easy to get around without a car for shorter trips. MARTA bus lines serve the area, and the Arts Center MARTA station in adjacent Midtown provides access to the broader rail network for commuters heading downtown or to the airport. For drivers, Peachtree Street and Monroe Drive are the main corridors, and I-75 and I-85 are accessible within a few minutes. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is roughly 20 to 25 minutes away by car or MARTA rail.
