Three miles northwest of downtown Richmond lies Carver, a small neighborhood of historic districts dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Stately brick row houses for rent line the streets of this area, with businesses clustered along Broad Street near Virginia Commonwealth University. Carver's location near I-95 makes it an excellent option for commuters to other parts of the state.
Carver locals enjoy a lively music scene in the Broad Street area, where you can check out the listings at the Camel or Strange Matter and enjoy live local bands seven days a week. The Village Cafe is a neighborhood institution, serving locals hearty meals since 1956, including more than 100 milkshake flavor combinations. For those who prefer Cajun food, try the Bayou biscuits and gravy at the Black Sheep. Take advantage of your community's proximity to the university and head to the Altria Theater for an evening of theater.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Marshall Park
appliances constantly breaking down. no help from maintenance, between 2 weeks and a month and a half to fix HUGE issues. mice. paper thin walls and people making noise all the time, as well as next to a street with the loudest cars possible at all hours of the night. management are always unhelpful and rude and passive aggressive. way too much money for a cramped crowded place. two fatal shootings happened on the street right behind the building. worst mistake of my life moving in. save yourself some heartache and find somewhere else to live please.

management doesn’t facilitate cleaning/painting the unit before move in, bathrooms come with chips in the mirrors/stains that don’t come out/blinds broken, air conditioning is terrible, management doesn’t turn on the heat in the complex during winter so it’s FREEZING outside of the apartments. packages are not accounted for by management so they are stolen very easily, more parking passes are sold than the amount of actual parking spaces. management barely has the complex commonspace cleaned if at all. terrible place to live

Had mice and management was not nice. Was not worth the money they charge and very unforgiving.

Terrible management, slow maintenance, expensive rent and parking space, dangerous area, everything is breaking down - so much to complain about. They charge $70 for parking, only to take parking spaces away for maintenance. They will give you random charges to your rent and the street has had numerous incidents involving armed robbery and shootings. Youd think being located behind a VCU residence hall would feel safer, but it isn't. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
DO NOT MOVE HERE!! THIS PLACE HAS MICE and this problem does not go away. They’ll put mouse traps down but they will come back. I have friends that stayed on the opposite end of the building who have also experienced this problem while living here. Also the walls are very thin. You can hear everything the people in the next room are doing and saying unless they are whispering. I have had plenty of other complaints about this place in which I have realised the leasing office does not take residents Complaints serious. Once you sign your lease they’re getting paid regardless if you like your new living situation or not. I would not recommend moving here, even for the “cheap” price they are asking.
They will rip you off and not return your deposit fee even though the walk through went excellent. They told us that we would get our full deposit back the got a check for less then half! They told us to then have a wonderful day! Worst place ever and I wish I never had my daughter move in here. They are also infested with roaches and no security like they state. Renter beware.
