Extending north from the Navy Yard between Capitol Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Capitol Riverfront is one of DC's fastest-growing neighborhoods. The popular Anacostia Riverwalk Trail begins in the neighborhood, near the intersection of 11th Street and M Street. This mixed-use neighborhood began as an industrial area; today, it is a trendy mix of office buildings, lofts, apartments, shopping areas, and parks. Yards Park, a 42-acre park along the river, offers beautiful river views and trails. It is the site of many local events, including the Friday Night concert series. In nine months of living here they have never managed to have more than one elevator working at a time. If you're on a top floor you'll have to leave your apartment 10 minutes before you want to be in the lobby due to the wait. If you're coming back from work around 5pm you'll have to wait in line for 15 minutes as the single elevator makes multiple full trips up and down. Management claims that they have been unable to get the remaining elevators serviced... for 9 months now...

The building is generally quiet. I don’t use a lot of the amenities. I don’t have any relationship with the leasing staff. I find out about community events at the last minute. The people who work the front desk do an excellent job.

Great location and amazing staff. Building is kept extremely clean and the maintenance team is very responsive. Only complaint is that the area is generally safe, but has definitely seen an uptick in some crime recently, but never inside the building that I am aware of.

Insignia is so warm and welcoming. It is a pet friendly building with lots of amenities for your pet as well as yourself. The building is metro accessible and surrounded by stores and other places to make life super convenient such as grocery, banking and more. If you’re thinking about it definitely do it !

It's a great community with lot's of dog friends for our pup! The location couldn't be better. We're surrounded by fantastic food options and a nice one mile jog to the capitol steps

The apartment is great. I really like the layout of the apartment; there is a lot of storage space. The lighting is great as well. The floor to ceiling windows are a great feature as well.

Absolutely terrible experience. I will be leaving the building as soon as possible. The mail system is absolutely terrible, the floors have gaps, the elevators are terrible, and the worst of all the General Manager seems to be not only incompetent but careless about tenants problems. The worst building I have ever lived in and I truly regret signing a lease especially for 18 months.

Insignia on M is a luxurious apartment complex that feels homey. There are certain amenities that really bowl you over such as the rooftop, gym, and downstairs clubhouse. The concierge staff and building managers are very courteous, prompt and eager to help. The cleaning staff works non-stop. The pool area is relaxing, accessible and comfortable for a small group or solo adventure. My only drawbacks are that the the rooftop could use to be cleaned up a little more often & the foliage appears to be dying which is a slight eye-sore.

Insignia has a great staff and really does well at keeping up with the building. The location is great and within a few minutes from Nats Stadium by foot. The amenities are great. Only downside is Navy Yard has started to get a little worse crime-wise recently.

Renting from Insignia on M is typically nice and easy. There are a lot of dogs at this location. It is a busy foot traffic area, but right in the middle of everything for an easy commute anywhere.

Insignia on M has been a mess from move-in to move-out. The leasing office is impossible to communicate with. Maintenance is wonderful, but seems to be one person: I have no idea how he manages it all. The front desk staff are amazing, but have way too much asked of them. No one stays for more than 3 months. The apartments look pretty but are falling apart. And the new management team has been impossible to get in touch with. It's an embarrassment.

Clean, quiet and well maintained property in beautiful neighborhood. Management is very responsive and they offer fun events with free food and drinks. Definitely recommend!

Great building. The staff is very nice and always helpful. Amenities are numerous, to make it a pleasure to live here. Now in my 6th year at IOM. And the neighborhood always has something going on.

Great location close to the Capitol, Nationals Park, and a metro stop. The staff are great and keep the building well maintained. One negative that they can’t help is crime has continued to increase in Navy Yard.

Love living here! Great staff, beautiful apartment features and fast service. The front desk workers are friendly and always helpful. The office is always willing to help with any issues and maintenance is always prompt and fixes the problem. Plus, you can’t beat the location. So close to the metro and everything navy yard has to offer!

The entire team worked so diligently to get me moved in such a short amount of time. Thank you very much I am happy to be here! The community is nice. It’s pretty quiet here so far, I heard my neighbors dog barking this morning but it was very faint so the walls aren’t too thin. The only thing is I work pretty late and sometimes I need to wash clothes when I get home at night and the washer is so loud I’m afraid my neighbors may be bothered sometimes. Very clean building with wonderful 24 hour concierge. Our cleaning team was up this morning vacuuming the halls and keeping the building clean. They also cleared the trash cans out of the way on the loading dock (even though it was trash day) when I was moving in because it wasn’t much room for me to unload my car. They noticed and immediately offered to make more room for me. Nice area to bike in with many options to eat. We are close to Nats Park so you can easily walk to and from games. 24 hour gym and a beautiful rooftop view.

I love living here and it’s a really great apartment. My view is amazing, My neighbors are quiet, And the amenities are great. However, maintenance is very slow and the leasing office doesn’t always listen to your concerns:/

Very clean building with amenities that feel brand new. Maintenance is extremely responsive and kind. Concierge staff is also great. Building communicates efficiently and it feels safe.

It’s been great thus far. Recently had our floors replaced, due to original floors being really bad. Any maintenance issues that come up are handled in a timely manner.

I have loved living here! The location is perfect and the building is amazing. All of the staff have been great and any issues have been promptly resolved. The amenities are great and the studio apartment has been such a good fit for me and my cat.

I've had a great 2.5 years living at IOM! I think this is one of the best managed properties in Navy Yard. The staff are really good at communicating updates via email, and the concierges make it friendly and secure. I have always felt safe and comfy in this property.
