About Hinderers Ironworks

CONSTRUCTION IN 1857, HINDERER'S IRON WORKS BUILDING IS RICH WITH NEW ORLEANS HISTORY. INAUGURAL USE OF THE STRUCTURE WAS A DANCE STUDIO AND LATER A NEIGHBORHOOD GROCERY STORE. IN 1939, HINDERER'S IRON WORKS, FOUNDED BY FREDERICK HINDERERS IN THE 1880S, RELOCATED ITS FOUNDRY OPERATION TO THE BUILDING. MANY OF THE IRON WORK PATTERNS FOUND THROUGH THE CITY WERE FORGED HERE ON PRYTANIA ST. RENOVATED IN 2006, THE PROPERTY INCLUDES APARTMENTS, GROUND FLOOR MEETING AND EVENT SPACE AND IS HOME TO FELICITY PROPERTY CO.
