West Orange is an upscale suburban community located about thirty miles west of Manhattan. The township is best known for its historic Llewellyn Park neighborhood, filled with Victorian homes that once belonged to such prominent citizens as Thomas Edison (Edison’s factory is one of the city’s distinctive landmarks as well). Most of the landscape in West Orange is covered by residential neighborhoods, with the popular Essex Green Shopping Center in the middle of town serving as the hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment.
When the weather is nice, locals love to hit the links at the nearby golf courses or explore the trails of South Mountain and Eagle Rock reservations. Seton Hall University sits just a few blocks southeast of town, making West Orange a great place for students, faculty, and staff members to live.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Edison Lofts
I've started having a very disappointing experience at this rental apartment. The recently changed management has not been welcoming or accommodating. Whenever I raise an issue, they fail to address it promptly or effectively. It's incredibly frustrating to feel ignored when you're paying for a place to live. Moreover, the management has no regard for privacy. They knock on my door at all hours without prior notice, which is highly intrusive and unprofessional. This constant disruption makes it hard to feel at home. Many of the services advertised are often unavailable. The gym, in particular, is poorly managed and rarely in good condition. It's clear that upkeep and maintenance are not a priority for the management. Overall, my experience here has been quite negative. I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-managed living environment.
Good: -Apartment very modern and nice -Very little noise -Staff usually helpful -Beautiful amenities -Friendly residents -Can walk to some things Bad: -Occasional pot smell -Some internal systems use error-prone technologies -Occasional issues with electricity, ironically Overall this is one of the better complexes out there, though expensive.
Hello this is a warning to everyone !!! I went and toured here saw an apartment on the 2nd floor and the office staff was very rude apartments were very nice but the hallway smelled like paraphernalia and there was dog Pee in the elevator for a building so expensive it should not be kept in that manor . Not to mention the bald man at the front desk made me feel very strange he was asking inappropriate questions to a future tenant. Such as if i was marriage and surprised I’m not. That being said i decided to rent at the parkway lofts much better price and professionalism. This building needs major help has a lot of potential if it was run correctly.
Applied here and was assured that everything would be looked at to get us in. We had some credit issues, but was told as long as we met the 90k threshold we would get an apartment. Low and behold that didn’t happen, paid the application fee and only one of the two credit reports were looked at. Was told we didn’t make enough, Which was untrue, we met the threshold. Representative seemed to have an attitude when we called to question the process and qualifications which me met easily. We found housing elsewhere, but did not appreciate being treated in this manner. Seems like all they wanted was the application fee and ppl with scores above 750. You should display all your criteria’s before having ppl spend the time speaking with you and doing an application. I’m happy where I am now.
Shell game of apartment rentals. High pressure sales from dishonest management. Terrible business.
