I generally love living here, but I have never experienced so many issues with fire alarms going off. They’re frequently being tested and have been accidentally triggered more than once. It’s quite frustrating how often it’s occurring, but honestly, other than that, it really is a good place to live.

We've lived at Del Ray Central for several years, and when we first moved in, it was a wonderful place to call home. Unfortunately, since the change in ownership the quality of living here has declined. The elevator is frequently out of service, slow to be repaired, and unreliable for daily use. For residents on higher floors or those with mobility needs, this is more than just an inconvenience. Maintenance of the public and common areas used to be clean and well-kept, but now they often are neglected. Simple upkeep like fresh paint in the halls, clean carpet, clean garage, have fallen off the priority list. It’s disappointing to see how much the building’s charm has been affected by lack of care. Del Ray Central used to be a well-managed community, now it's a property being squeezed for profit at the expense of residents’ comfort and quality of life.

Ever since I moved to this place, it has consistently fallen short of my expectations. On the day I was supposed to move in according to my lease, no one was aware or prepared for my arrival. This was just the beginning of a series of disappointments. Any work orders I submitted to report an issue were inexplicably canceled without any resolution. For instance, the dog park gate has been broken for about a month, posing a danger to our beloved pets. I reported the issue, but the work order was canceled, and the problem was never addressed. The first-floor hallway has a persistent and unpleasant weed smell. Additionally, the package area is a complete mess, with packages frequently getting lost in the disorganization. This situation has been frustrating, to say the least.

Living at Del Ray Central ant Fuse has been overall a good experience. The location is absolutely fantastic, with easy access to downtown Del Ray and bus lines toward Braddock and Potomac Yards metro. It’s a vibrant area that offers convenience, solid amenities, and a good community vibe. While the location and amenities are great, the slow response to maintenance issues (Reoccurring elevator and garage door malfunctions) and poor communication are areas that need improvement.

No working elevator. No controlled entry because the garage doors are stuck open. No package delivery system, they get thrown in the non secure lobby corner. No working amemities. No urgency or concern with your washer is broken for month. Yes waking to the lobby alarm every single morning. Yes $150/mo hidden fees each month. Yes $75/mo pet rent despite emails with the leasing office saying it would be $50. Yes regular rent increases. No free guest parking. No response from management about any of this.

DO NOT LIVE HERE On my bill there has been extra charges that were not disclosed to me, and I have had to go talk to the leasing office every month, but this apartment complex is so beyond poorly managed. Sandra knows NOTHING and has told us completely incorrect information numerous times. We have had flooding, a constant smoke smell, and bugs in our apartment and they do not seem to care. The leasing office combined with Del Ray Tower across the street, and Del Ray Central has clearly taken a backseat in their priorities. The entire leasing staff is inconsistent in their answers to my questions, and they do not follow through without constant reminders. Do not live here!

It’s a gamble. Most of the units have some kind of serious issue (smoke, pests, broken appliances, etc.). If you get one of those units, you’re out of luck. They won’t answer you, won’t fix the issues, and — when they finally do answer — they will gaslight you over and over. If you’re lucky enough to get a good unit, then it may not be a big deal that the leasing office gives you the wrong info when you tour, or that it is a pain to get a hold of them about applying/finalizing the lease, or that they make move in a complete nightmare.

Pros: Great apartment, clean, well maintained, amazing neighborhood. Dog park is really large and fairly clean. I'm very happy I moved here. Cons: No metro nearby (Potomac Yard keeps being delayed). They didn't do a great job cleaning my apartment before I moved in. And worst of all -- Sandra in the management office is completely incompetent. I normally ignore complaints about management when I look at apartment reviews, because it's just not unusual to have management that isn't great. But this is next level incompetence. I've lived here only a few months and there have been multiple billing errors on my account. She told me the wrong info on my tour, she forgets every detail I tell her, she doesn't reply to emails. She's absolutely terrible at her job.

Del ray central is an amazing community to live in. Wonderful staff across the board. Also, you will not find better amenities anywhere else. Spacious, clean, and modern apartment units privide a comfortable living environment which is tough to find elsewhere in Alexandria. I have, and continue to suggest to friends and family looking to relocate to come to Del Ray Central.

Loved this community when I moved in even tho it was missing some of the amenities I would’ve enjoyed (I.e. pool and a bigger gym), but then some issues started to happen with a neighbor and which I have never experienced with anyone anywhere I’ve lived. Not the kind of person who likes confrontation or having any kind of issues with just anyone. At this point I would prob be considering moving out to ovoid more issues.

I feel spoiled living here and I love it. The maintenance staff is my favorite, as the building is spotless and they are very responsive to all requests! The leasing office staff is amazing and I love the small events they put on like ice cream days and such. I also just love how convenient everything is at Del Ray Central...the trash, elevator, mailroom and garage are all steps away. I love my apartment. If I could buy it, I would!

Although I really liked the sense of community at Del Ray Central when I first moved in (plenty of resident events that allowed me to meet my neighbors and make friends), the new management team has significantly impacted the community in a negative manner.

Thank you for your feedback. Please know that we too are missing resident events and the ability to bring the community together to get to know one another. However, Covid-19 has significantly impacted our ability to do so. We are the same team. We are just a little limited in what we can do in terms of social gatherings. Here at Del Ray the safety of our team members and residents come first. Our team has hosted small monthly events where residents are able to stop by to grab small treats without having to congregate in an enclosed area. These events are always listed in the elevator for quick view. The team is looking forward to having everyone back together as soon as it is safe to do so. We look forward to seeing you stop by our next event!
If you are looking for a outstanding community, courteous and professional management, a beautiful place to live, close to Potomac Yard, Braddock metro station, restaurants with a bus stop that can take you to Ballston/Arlington/ Pentagon City Mall and the Pentagon; dont think twice, come and be a happy resident like us. Del Ray Central is quiet, calm, and clean. There is a true sense of community from both the renters and the employees of Del Ray Central. Not only is the building great, but the location is incredible too! You are still close to getting into DC, but far enough that you have the quaint experience of Del Ray.

I love living at Del Ray Central. I have lived here for 6 years and am so glad I chose this building. Del Ray is a wonderful neighborhood. Del Ray Central is perfectly situated, convenient to everything. The building is well maintained and constantly improving. Underground parking is a plus. Most importantly, the management and maintenance staff are great. Living here feels like a community more than just an apartment building. I hope to live here for a long time to come!
