Located in Downtown Seattle, First Hill is the city’s first neighborhood. The historic neighborhood is also known as “Pill Hill” for its abundance of medical and research institutions, such as Swedish Hospital and Virginia Mason Medical Center. First Hill is also home to Seattle University and the famed Frye Art Museum. Defined by steep hills, First Hills juxtaposes the old and new with historic brick apartment buildings, modern high-rise apartments, and charming houses. First Hill is extremely walkable and there are a variety of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood for residents to enjoy. Living in First Hill also places resident minutes from some of the city’s most popular hotspots like Capitol Hill, the International District, and Lower Queen Anne, home of the iconic Space Needle. First Hill has several rail stations and Interstate 5 runs on the western edge of the neighborhood making traveling through downtown easy.

With the right management team only can this apartment survive; I don't think anybody can do better than Sara; no one is perfect but for what we have, she is great :)

BEWARE!!!!! My utility charges quadrupled the last 4-5 months I lived there. It went from $100 to $500!!! Contacted the leasing office multiple times and they said not to pay it until they figure it out with the water company. They never got back to me and they sent me to COLLECTIONS!! Collections said they can’t do anything and now I’m stuck with this on my credit report and paying this utility bill. The pipes in the parking lot were always leaking and had huge puddles constantly which could explain the huge water bill. They brought in HUGE fans to get dry it out but this went on for MONTHS. Can’t forget to mention the locker room was always broken. My packages were constantly stolen. 2 of my E-BIKES were stolen in the bike room. Leasing office showed me the security footage. They said they don’t know how the gentleman got into the building with his SAW!
It is a nice, cean, quiet neighborhood, close to downtown and grocery stores. The building has all amenities to feel yourself comfortable. It has very nice and professional team.

Hello, thank you for sharing your positive experience! Thanks again for taking the time to leave us this information about your recent visit. Take care!
My overall experience at the beginning was good but recently it has been the worst. The security of the building is horrible. The car garage gate has been broken most of the time which made some of un authorized vehicles to park in the parking garage. I parked in a reserved parking lot and for the 5th time, some other vehicle parked in my spot not for a little bit but for a couple of days! I have reported it to the security as well as management but they haven’t done anything about it. I have to patiently wait for the vehicle parked in my Spot which I pay for every month to move. I tried calling the towing company listed everywhere in the parking garage that suppose to tow any unauthorized vehicle parked there but the towing company will only entertain you if you work for cypress. I think that in general this is not a secured place as people can park freely in what’s supposed to be a secure garage and management won’t do anything about it. This can compromise residents safety as when you get in the garage, you can access some part of the building.

Cypress management touts community but fails to understand what's necessary for a community to thrive. The amenities eventually are reflected in your monthly invoice which, ostensibly, adds another $100-$200 to your rent. If you don't see yourself utilizing the community spaces it will not be worth considering this place at all.
I love living here at Cypress! The staff is so friendly and professional and the community events are great. The building is very clean and modern and I like all the secure entrances to keep us safe. My favorite place is the rooftop with the amazing views of Mount Rainier and watching fireworks from the TMOBILE stadium!

Living at Cypress has been a great experience because the property is very modern and well maintained and the amenities are amazing if you like a top notch gym and spectacular views from the rooftop. Also the staff here is genuinely courteous and very prompt to help with any maintenance needs or questions. The common areas and grounds are very clean and the modern appliances in the apartment are wonderful. I also like the security of the entry doors and common areas for our safety. I am very pleased I moved here and would recommend this apartment community to anyone.

Moving to Cypress has been such a great experience! The leasing team (I worked mostly with Kody) is so great and definitely a tipping point in my decision to apply to the building. Even after moving in, they have made themselves very available for any questions or concerns. The building is gorgeous. Everything feels very new and well maintained. All staff at Cypress are friendly and helpful. The building offers plenty of opportunity to join the community.

Overall I like Cypress and the nice amenities. The regular rate of the apartments is pretty high, but the location and close proximity to both the light rail and mini train are a great way to get around. They have great promotions to new residents, I'm curious to see if they offer any to residents at renewal?

Hi, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your inquire to the team here at Cypress! Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything we can do for you.
This place is amazing in almost every way. Rooftop area is really nice, with high-quality grills and fire pits. Fitness center is the best I've seen from an apartment building in my life. There's a dog room if you have dog/cat pets. Beautiful courtyards. Security measures for apartment and doors and mail are solid. Leasing office staff is the best ever! The building and amenities are very clean, also. This has been by far my favorite place to live in the city. The only negative I can think of is parking in the First Hill neighborhood is basically the worst--near-zero parking initially, add on some nearby construction and it becomes actual zero parking available. Worth it to get s few $300-$400 tickets per year than pay for monthly parking in the garage (which according to my recollection is at least $200/mo), but if you plan to pay more than $2400 in tickets per year, then you might want to pay for garage parking.

I'm very disappointed with the poor service and outcome of my experience with Greystar. Greystar took over Cypress Apartments near downtown Seattle from another company. In doing so - as we called frequently to check in and try to help - took more than a month to process our application. By then, the move was no longer suitable for us. They are an enormous company, but rejected our request and pocketed the $80 application fee, instead of refunding it to us. That is not the right thing to do and Greystar needs to treat people better.
