My experience has been bad since before I even moved in. My move in date was scheduled for a Friday. I didn’t even receive my welcome letter until the day before (even tho I had been asking for it for days) so I had to scramble to turn on utilities which they require before you move in. Also my bathroom tub was supposed to be cleaned and re-glazed. Of course there was an issue with that right before I moved in so they either had to push my move in date to 3 days later (costing me money for hotels which they never offered to reimburse) OR they said they can wait on reglazing the tub. All of this should have been done before you say the apartment is available on the website. Come to move in. Lights don’t work, garbage disposal doesn’t work. The back patio was trashed, full of bottles and leaves. No one bothered to clean. My biggest issue is a leaking tub. It has been leaking since the day I moved in. I’ve called and put in two work orders. I moved in Friday it is now Tuesday and the tub is still leaking. No sense of urgency. Nobody has came to fix it. The response I got was “management will schedule a time to talk with you”. Which is ridiculous! I don’t need to talk to management it’s a water leak I need you to come and fix it! There’s no way you didn’t notice this leak before I moved in if you did a walk thru right before I moved in. It has been leaking since the same day I arrived! Also there is no parking for your guests. I talked to the office in person and they stated there’s nothing they can do. I would avoid moving here if you don’t have to. I was in a desperate situation so had to move last minute.

I wish i could give them negative star, I have Yet to receive my security deposit! Called to get information reguarding contact information they never forward the information. I called about my deposit for a month and all they could tell me it was processed. They tell me something different every time I call asking about it. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX please find some other place. I have been waiting for my deposit over 60 days today I went to the apartment inquiring about my deposit, TODAY THEY HAD INFORMATION ABOUT MY REFUND THEY claimed it was sent on May 8 WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED. They gave me a corporate number that is just an answering machine. They have the nerve to want to deduct administrative fees for what they do not communicate with you and they never return phone calls. I repeat do not Apply here they are rude and just want to take your money. I should not feel like the only way I am going to get my money is to take them to court. I paid $482.90 and yet they was only trying to refund $300 this place is a rip off. I wish I would have read the reviews before I applied.

Terrible service, they say one thing when you go to apply and then they come out with another when you have already paid, the manager of the place is a not very nice person! They do not comply with the established time to give answers, really irresponsible

Aplique para una fecha de disponibilidad para después decirmen que ya no está disponible qué hay disponibilidad para dos meses después que mala esperiencia cuando uno va aplicar les importa es que uno apliquen y ya después te salen con cuentos y no dan solusion si no devolver el dinero menos lo de la aplicación cuando la culpa es de ellos como tal por qué no son claros al momento de uno ir y aplicar qué irresponsabilidad no recomiendo esta mala experiencia donde perdí prácticamente 100 dólares

People aren't exaggerating. I had 3 different move in dates. I was placed in the model home for 2 weeks because of their incompetence. Then when I was finally about to move in, the apartment was FILTHY and unfinished. Management does not care about this property or its residents.

Worst place to call home ! Don’t look for any excitement in living here. Roach infested. Office can’t keep up with anything. Oh and let’s not forget, the endless list of things you can’t even have on YOUR back patio ( grill, toys, NOTHING ) There’s not even anything for children to do out there.

The leasing office is terrible, they act nice in the beginning but when it gets time to move in they are disorganized. I put my deposit down two months prior yet they wanted to up the rent a week before I was due to move in, the apartment changed, and the new apartment still wasn’t ready in time. I had to move in the middle of the night because the apartment wasn’t ‘ready’ til 8:30pm. The ac was broken and took 6 months before it got fixed. There is also no internet access, you gonna have to have to have someone service it because the cord is cut on the other side of the outlet. I will definitely be moving out at the end of my lease.
If the roaches don't get you, the leaks will. Maintenance is slow and incomplete...IF they respond at all. If you have ANY other opiltions....tent, cardboard box, someone's couch....take it. This trash dump is disgusting.

Do not move here!! They will only repair things after threatening to either bring health department, vacating the property, or looking to sue them. I live their from 2015 to 2020 and they transferred ownership 4 times. They will blame everything on you even if it was their responsibility and make you pay for their mess up even everyday normal things. Also they like to say you did not call in a maintenance issue and neither management nor maintenance are helpful. Had water leaking into my living room ceiling from the ac unit that is upstairs, the ceiling downstairs fell out. They did a crappy repair and 3 months later that same spot fell out. The bathroom tub's plumbing started leaking, we reported it they came out 9 months later after black mold started to grow in the downstairs ceiling. They well not treat you fair. All they want is your money and life. They are not out here to help you live a good life. Now that I bought my own house, my health has gotten alot better. All around made a great choice moving out of this crappy place. I highly advise you go somewhere else or get a house. The house i bought is just under 2000 sqft and. Crystal lakes 850sqft to 950 sqft and my house cost just alittle more than Crystal Lakes. Also the police is constantly there monitoring drug deals and you hear gunshots almost everyweek. This place is so unorganized and unprofessional I don't know how they even have their jobs! Toured the property and the model was ok looking but the process after was a complete nightmare! Submitted a application and never received a call back, tried calling them and don't bother you will never get anyone on the phone. It goes to this strange call center that doesnt know anything about what's going on. After several weeks of leaving voice mails finally received a call and told me my deposit will be over $1000 because they made a clerical error and now the apartment is rented. THEN after a month goes by they send back my administrative fee yes administration fee. But send only $1 back and I gave them $100. Really?! This place is not even worth it.

May 2014 My husband got the keys and our move in date was on the 15th,we were moving from NY so we actually didn’t move in until the end of May.... So the day we moved in what do you know freaking ceiling caved in pouring water just coming down right in the living room as soon as we walked in the house....Here’s what happen my husband had left the AC on so the house would be nice and cool apparently the unit we had AC gets clogged and there you have it falling ceiling smh so it took them 4ever to fix it we didn’t move in until July was so freaking over this tacky,unprofessional place.... A few weeks after we moved in ceiling is linking again so according to the unprofessional management team our AC will continue to get clogged and we have to keep calling them to fix it like what type of mess is this and who can live like that so nevertheless we moved out so yea don’t move here they need serious remodeling and new management with professional attitudes.....

Roaches, my sink and toilet were broken when I moved in and not even a month later my fridge broke. Maintence is excellent however the leasing staff themselves?!? Not worth it. I’ve called them every single day for two weeks and still have not gotten a reply. They will lie about anything to get you in the door and then they disappear.
First, they don't show you the townhouse prior to residency. The day I moved in 2015, Rasheeda (the wise guy leasing agent) showed me the home I where I would reside for 12 months. She acted scared like she was afraid of something. My son and I had been there 3 days and when I came home from Bible Study my son said, "Mommy you're not gonna believe what I saw come from underneath the stove." I became extremely nervous and watchful. I saw Roaches (some people call them Water Bugs). I told my son to go to the store and get the sticky glue traps which we placed in the kitchen. In the mornings there were at least 5 bugs on all 3 traps. When I spoke to Leasing they sent Pest Control who I had noticed on the premises daily. I was so frightened that my son couldn't leave me there alone. I then asked Leasing to send maintenance because there was a hole under the sink where they could have gotten in. Maintenance came and I told him what I had seen, he said "They can climb also and some residents see them upstairs too." I said, Oh Lord." The bugs are huge. When I moved I left the townhouse "As Is". Today, those wise guy leasing agents are saying I owe them $200 for not cleaning the townhouse upon departure and they are aware of how frightened the tenants must be. They need to Fumigate because pest control can not control those bugs. Where I live now is bug free, Thank You Jesus. They owe me for suffering 12 months that I stayed there, and they owe you too. This is Class Action!
A friend of mine hasn't even moved into Crystal Lakes yet and has already encountered an extreme level of unprofessionalism. He requested to tour the property weeks ago, and the "leasing consultant" (which is far from a befitting title for this employee) was not hospitable. She chose to remain outside instead of walking the potential resident inside the apartment; she barely engaged with him regarding his thoughts and did not bother to explain why Crystal Lakes cold be a good housing option. In fact, her stand-offish demeanor could possibly reflect her overall negative attitude towards Crystal Lakes Townhomes. In addition to this lazy, unpleasant individual, the rental office is sub par. Despite his overall welcome, he decided to take a chance and apply for approval. he took the application with him and returned it before Memorial Day. Unfortunately, it was in the hands of the employee who did not do a proper job of showcasing the apartment. She said it would take a week to process the application and background information. After a week passed, he called and was told his application was still being processed. He was told to call back in a few days or next week. The same thing happened the following week, and he was met with more excuses. One excuse was that the "consultant" he was with had been fired. It was one instance after the other, and this week he was told that his paperwork had been "sitting," and that another employee was handling it now. The rest are too long and do not matter. Take responsibility for your employees, tie up their "loose ends" if he or she gets fired, and stop making unacceptable excuses for poor customer service. He was approved, but, after three and a half weeks of waiting for Crystal Lakes to communicate, I would reconsider. The excuses continued to flow with a series of useless apologies and promises (i.e. lower rent the first month) the office can't legally keep. I think you all get the point. I understand that everyone's financial situations are different, but their lack of organization this early in the leasing process is a CLEAR INDICATOR of how this complex operates on a daily basis. Whether you pay, 850.00 or 8.50, you should be treated with consideration. Anyone who says that this is an awesome place has low standards is probably used to being treated poorly. A couple of good comments out of the various "one to no star ratings" are not some "drummed up" coincidence. This place is horrid from beginning to end!
First of all they should close the whole site and never open it, because that complex apartment is not in habitable or sanitary conditions, much less in safe conditions of someone living there. I would not recommend it to anyone. And to top it all they have a company of towing car ( ON DEMAND TOWING) that take the cars at night from the parking lot for pure joke and illegally to get money from people. The apartments are ugly, dirty and old. And the staff of the rent office are unprofessional.
Moved in on the 2nd . Everything was up to date as far as the kitchen, I even looked behind area's stove and etc No bugs at all ! Counter tops , light beads in etc are really nice . NO BUGS !!! If your house is dirty or you keep a nasty house then there is a 100% chance you will see bugs / roaches . Maintenance and cleaning crew are very nice , These apartments are really affordable. I just wished they were just re- modeled on the outside in a re- modeled fencing patio . Overall Crystal lake apartments are nice !
These apartments are run down and the grass gets as tall as your knees before they have anybody cut it. Your kids are not safe period b/c you have to worry if they walk outside are the neighborhood kids going to jump them or not b/c they have parents that do not care about their kids at all. They are roaming all times of night when they should be in the house. So, to me management does not care about the safety of the residents that live there or they would start evicting people who violate the lease agreement. They have had shootings and kids running around stealing etc. etc. This is not an ideal place for a family period and management is very poor and the corporate office should do something about the people they have working there . POOR MANAGEMENT AND A VERY NASTY LIKE PLACE TO EVEN LIVE DEFINITLEY DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO LIVE HERE WITH KIDS ESPECIALLY IF YOU CARE ANYTHING ABOUT THEM.
When you call them they lie straight to your face nothing they say can be trusted. They are normally disgusting to deal with. The maintenance is a joke there are people without AC's middle of the summer by the way and I have water leaking from my ceiling been a week since someone has even looked at it and looks real close to falling in..... this is not living for anyone and certainly not what I paid for.
These apartments are absolutely amazing! The rental office is so easy to work with, the maintenance department is on POINT!! The fix problems usually the same day, the staff is friendly and always willing to work with you! The apartments themselves are very spacious compared to others in the area, and VERY affordable. As a single mother I recommend these to anyone who is looking for a nice, affordable, and clean neighborhood to live in. The schools are EXCELLENT!! Its convenient to the interstates and very clean and well kept properties! I love it here and wouldn't move if you paid me!! Quiet and clean neighborhoods are hard to find in this area lucky for me we already have one! :-)
